View Full Version : Qual is separated

During an invasion today, Yor managed to sneak up on Qual and smacked him a good one with the separ. I'm told Qual exploded into several pallidews and a severely fallen male sylvan exile, who was taken to the temple, healed and questioned. I don't know what happened after all this, but Yor said he'd pass along a visionstone. Babajaga was there for the questioning, too, and so she'll surely have a lengthy journal entry.

Cool! Good for Yor...

If/when this visionstone is available, will you post the address here Koric? Or should we turn to your journal?

Drat.
Missed it. Yor gave me a good whack with the separ and dislodged that squirmy bugger in my throat. All is well...the shivers have stopped.

Yor is organizing a group to leave for Noth underground today at 11:00am PST, meeting on centaur. All are welcome. I can't make it. :( He also sent out these excerpts from the conversation last night:

From the "New" Qual himself:

Qual says, "the caves under noth are miles long"
Qual says, "and most have never been seen by exiles"
Qual says, "look for secret passages..."
Qual says, "your mystics may be able to see them"
Qual says, "go hunt the dark Bubbling"

Qual says, "there is a very well hidden magic door... but I warn
you the landew breeding grounds are just beyond."
Qual says, "deep as you can go and then keep towards the
south of the island... always down whenever you can."
Qual says, "look for blocked paths..."

Unfortunately we did not find anything in the Underground. The magical barrier was not changed, and the blocked passage didn't give way (both Robin and Lundar were in the team). More searching will be done, though, in other areas.

Yor put up a scroll with information on when Qual was cured. There are pictures, visionstone and transcript of the conversation with Qual.

Here is where the scroll is located in the lib: http://www.sundragonclan.com/yor/qualcured.html

I watched the vision stone of the demise of Qual and the making of the Separ. Very Interesting! Who was the old women in the making of the Separ? Her tag was not blue.

Apparently, there is a whole dimension to this land that I am completely missing. [:)]

For fighters are there quests or tasks that can be done? I mean besides rescueing and coining.

For little mini quests for fighters (and perhaps healers and mystics):

- skel quest(get a coin for each 5 skels in 60 minutes or something). This is located in the underground
- rat quest (located near the casino)
- large vermine quest (located near the tatoo shop i think)
- feral quest (any kind of feral - yay!). Located in north town just east of the eastern most exit to north farms.
- island panther quest (located in the SF outpost)
- night wendy test (not sure where - south farms by where the fishing pole is? or is that the maha quest)?
- maha quest (not sure where - maybe south farms by the fishing pole)

any others?

And then exiles can always try some of the mystic things (I'm assuming that's what they're for) like the towers of hanoi thing (east forest I think).
And then there's that tile puzzle game thing somewhere in the marsh.
There are a few others around that don't require you to being a mystic to actually try the challenge. But I don't think you gain anything form it.

And you can always try the footrace...

Well, Yor, who cured Qual, IS a fighter, so yes there are many things that fighters can do in the lands. And there are many questions unanswered, many things to explore. Anyone can participate in increasing our knowledge and comprehension of these lands. Here are just a few things off the top of my head:

- On the Separ, there is still a task that needs to be completed. Somewhere under Dal'Noth is the source of this infection, refered to as the 'dark bubbling'. We need to find where it hides and bring the Separ to it to destroy it. We know it's somewhere in tunnels hidden in the underground of Noth. Many are not so sure that Qual is really cured, since Qual has the ability to assume different shapes. Is he really cured?

- On the Brion brothers alone there are quite a number of things that we don't understand. Read Babajaga's scroll for a more complete list of things we know and things we don't. There are six brothers, they have been in these lands since well before exiles first came here. They possess strange powers and have their own agenda. What do they want, what can we learn from them?

- Trillbane and the foothills. Trillbane is the key to get to the pathfinder trainer that can teach us beyond what the mash hermit is able to teach us. When you keep marsh hermit on his toes, he cannot teach you anymore, but he says there is another one that can (I forget his name) and that we need to find Trillbane somewhere beyond the foothills to find him.

- Ether and the planes: the walls between the planes appear to be damaged and ether is leaking into our plane and also in purg. Departing from the Ethereal Plane seems to further damage the walls. There are an increasing number of disturbances in the lands.

- FI/DI: so many things to explore and understand on this island. Many caverns still hold secrets. Volcoons: what are they? What are they trying to tell us? There is someone hidden in a dark cave that we are looking for. We don't know who he is, or what he has to say. The drake den, why is it that so many items don't work properly in there? How many caverns are still undiscovered under that island?

- there are a number of places in the lands where you get a weird foreboding feeling sometimes (like the gravel slope in noids for instance). Why is this? What is the link between these places? Why do we get these feelings sometimes and not at other times?

In addition to these, there is also the simple pursuit of knowledge about the lands. Exploration is one thing. Did you ever see Lundar's lake? It took me more than 2 years to find it. How much do you know about the lands? Do you know about the constellations in the sky? Do you know when the next sunrise will be, or the next full moon? Understanding these things can be a quest in itself.

For all the things I listed here, being a mystic is not required (except perhaps for understanding of ether, but many things can be achieved by other professions too). In most cases you need to have the help of others though. This is the fun part, all these things (or most of them at least) are group efforts, but each individual can contribute.

These lands are full of wonders, it is ours to explore.

Gaeyl or something like that is tha name I think...

I know what you mean! I read Koric's journal or Baba's or someone's and there's like a whole bunch of other parts of the island chain with tons of stuff I've never heard of or seen in person...

I don't think these are places we'd exactly get offered chances to go.

I did like the invite for WoD and FoD for the foothills trip I don't think we actually made it to the foothills, it was kinda fun until it go to the point where we just kinda sat around and slowly moved the rods forward. But as I've said before I'm not exactly someone overflowing with patience... :)

I suppose what we could do is schedule some more WoD/FoD hunts/trips to some of these other places to do some "sight-seeing"...

I suggest, for fun, waiting for Prue to come to town and seeing if you can get her to give you money. Even one coin qualifies. It's fun if you run out of things to hunt.

If you do that we won't be able to hunt Noth anymore :(

Trillbane is indeed the skilled pathfinder you want. He's wicked smart, but also not to be trusted. He doesn't live with the orga for his health you know. He's also responsible for the Marsh Hermit's "conditon".

OOC:
Also keep in mind, although Trillbane can teach you pathfinding, you won't necessarily have 1 more rank in what the Marsh Hermit can teach you. It may be considered an entirely new "skill" in the sense that you will train to open different kinds of paths, but not surrent paths any better. Just a thought.
