Hello fine Winds of Dawn clan!!

I had a question about my healing training. The fine Konoko showed me the language teacher, so that is what I am training now.

There are many trainers in the healer hall... Sespus, Respia, Eva... Uhm, Higgrus, Faustus.. not to mention Spiritus, whom Konoko said was for healers... along with Bodrus.

There are so many to choose from! Who should I train with?

Also... thanks for all the help you guys gave me!! I.. lived in Agratis for a while, I'm glad I got to meet everybody! [:D]

While not as diverse as fighting philosophies, there are a number of different healing philosophies. It helps to know what each specific trainer does:

Higgrus trains health (hit points)
Respia trains recovery of spirit
Sespus trains your total amount of spirit
Faustus trains how fast you use spirit and health to heal someone
Eva trains a mixture of all of them, plus a few other things

Most healers avoid training pure Faustus like the plague, as you can quickly kill yourself by healing too fast.

My personal training is very heavy in terms of Eva and Respia - I train equal parts of both (along with equal parts of Proximus, the 3

There are several philosophies of healing, and each has it's own advantages and disadvantages. I'll list a few along with famous examples.

Speed (examples: Thrund, Astor): This healer trains Faustus above all else, but also plenty of Higgrus and respia to go along with it. Usually light on Sespus and Horus, since they don't relate directly to healing live people.

Self-healer (examples: Typ): This healer tends towards Respia and Higgrus, with maybe a dash of Awaria and a pinch of Faustus to make themself useful as a sponge. Someone who can take tons of damage and still stand. Respia is the most important part of this training path. Also good as a chainer.

Rod (examples: Lard Almighty, Hidden): This healer focuses on Spirtus and Higgrus, allowing other healers to heal them at extraordinary rates. Useful for taking huge ammounts of punishment (far more than the self

Wow...

I haven't finished my language ranks yet... so I'll just put it off!!!

I saw somebody healing.. and I asked them what they had trained. They said they had a LOT of trainings with Respia, so they could heal themselves and barely lose health while healing.

I think that's what I will train. So.. I just train a lot of respia?

Learn all the languages then! Procrastination is good for the soul.

I'm a balanced type of healer. A little bit of this, a little bit of that. I can do that "respia thing" where I heal myself while healing others. I can do it for quite some time. Saves me a lot of times too.

Spiritus, Eva, Higgrus, and Respia are my trainers of choice. Possibly train 20 ranks of respia to get you started, then train Eva. That 20 extra Respia balances out the Respia you'd earn so you have a good ratio of Faustus: Respia. That way you can do the "respia thing!"

That's just how I train though. You can do whatever your little puff-ball heart desires! Hee!

I have a shirt for you if you'd like. Grassy Green. I'm not out a lot. I'm lazy. So I may chuck it at Konoko who seems to be out a lot more than me. But who knows, I may see you!!

Have fun, and see ya around! [:D]

oh! That's not a bad idea!! There was a language for all the races, yah? I don't know them all yet, but maybe one day I will!!I'm glad I decided not to be a mystic. I healed my first person today. Slowly, but I did it!! They thanked me. Made me feel good!

I think after I finish training my language, I'll get Respia to teach me. Wouldn't hurt me! Then I can decide where to go from there. Thanks for all the help you guys!

When was the last time someone was able to say this?

There's really no wrong way to train. Just train whatever you like and if you find it's not adequate for what you want to do train something else. After a little while you'll start figuring out what kind of healing skills you prefer and what it takes to become that.

I think Mehan's advice is very good. Start out with Respia, Higgy, Eva, Spirtus until you know what kind of healer you want to be.

I started with Respia myself and was not impressed at all (as my first trainer, now I like her). After that I trained some with Higgurs and suddenly I didn't fall every damn time I just saw an Artak [:)]. Sylvans are little more fragile than Zos I believe.

Eva says, "Hail, Cradlesong. We are nearly equals."

On top of that I've just over 50 Horus fer a little boost.

Spirtus is kept on his toes...

Might have 50-60 proxi.

Currently I am balancing a little better by cramming with Respia.

On a good day, in the 4th circle test, Glory exclaims that I will definately pass next time. My personal strategy has been to stand next to her and tickle her with my blue stone whilst the boloks and mahas gnaw on me.

Boring? Not a bit. I enjoy the freedom of staying alive in the majority of situations.

"Balanced" may not be as accurate as "sturdy". [;)]

You intend to learn them all ???

are you sure ?

I got half of them so far, alternating between language and other 'usefull' training. (one day i might even learn how to brew beer). be aware that it will be harder to train for other (not you race) tongue.

Even worse, I'm afraid. Fens have the worst natural constitution of all the races. Until you have about 15 Higgrus, expect to be 1-hit by a lot of things.

La Puff-Ball---

Yeah, well. Being Zo sucks too. Don't fret.

Ok, I lied about the grassy green shirt. I gave it away already [:(] Sorry for getting hopes up and all. I'd buy you one anyway, but well... the library is eating me alive. Aaaggh!! But anyway, I just bought a new sunstone (600c, whoo!... my first one cost uhm.. 2368...) and I have one that's worn twice.. now, it's not new, but you can have it for free if you want.

I'm lazy too. So it's with my "friend". I'll give it to somebody who knows about my "friend" already so I don't expose her. mwahahaha... but it's so tempting.

Sooooooo... Kiri...? Altir....? Konoko doesn't.. I don't think. Or maybe she does. Who wants to do the honors?

Konoko doesn't.. I don't think. Or maybe she does.

I have no idea! So your secret is safe... :)

Speaking of sunstones, mine just wore one level the other day. I actually think that's pretty good considering how warm it gets with all those messages I send... :)

What does it cost these days to repair it to full?
Or is it cheaper to buy a new one?

The new one I bought was 700c.. but they've been going for like 600, 500 I heard.

Newbies these days, sheesh! Don't have to work to earn 2k! What is this world coming to!?!

Costs 500c to repair

To fully repair a "worn" sunstone is 1.4k or so. To repair one worn one level is 500c. A new sunstone is about 600c. The decision is yours :)
