Personally I think you'd be a great member Diuturnity! You can read more about our membership procedures here (http://www.windsofdawn.org/joining.html). Note that you don't need to wait until you've completed the event requirements to post your question answers, although you should probably wait to post them until you're fairly sure you want to apply, because that gets the whole application ball rolling.

Well I do want to apply for your clan.
1. Why do you want to join Winds of Dawn?
I want to join the Winds of Dawn for the friendship and closeness of its people. Plus I want to help other exiles in need wether new or old. I know I can do this without a clan, but I love what your organization stands for and feel that I could uphold its creed.
2. In what ways do you enjoy helping new exiles?
I enjoy showing them around Puddleby and helping them with various things they need or want. I also enjoy sharing my experience in Puddleby as a fellow newbie. I just love the feeling that I made a difference in their life.
What do you enjoy doing when you are out of the Library?
When I am not studing I enjoy showing newbies around or going hunting with my friends, but my favorite thing to do is explore. I have found that it has gotten me in trouble more often than not /action smiles
What do you not enjoy doing?
I do not enjoy failing rescue missions, which I do quite frequently, but other than that I am up for whatever comes my way /action smiles
I hope that this application helps you to see who and what I am like. I am just a fun loving Sylvan with a big heart.
Your Friend Turny

Thank you all for being so kind as I go on hunts and meet you all in town I appreciate it.
Something you may want to know about me is that I want to be revolutionary healer. I know it seems impossible but I want to be the strongest healer in the lands. Regardless of what people say about balance and what not I will find a way to keep my strength, balance and speed of healing in check. I promise to train hard and be a good asset to your clan.

You want to be a fighting healer? There aren't many ways to do that well since I've heard Hardia is capped at 300 ranks and you probably still won't be able to hit worth darn.
Can you explain what you mean by a revolutionary healer further?

Well I can see your point there, but I guess I want to be a fighting healer, but I won't neglect my healing duties. I guess my goal is to be strong in all ways. So that in any given situation I can contribute where others lack.
Sorry I am a strong willed newbie /action smiles

Well if you do want to be good at fighting, some healers to check out are Tara, Jackie and Theo. They're all fairly strong at fighting. But do realize that even the strongest fighting healer will never be able to hit anything but low level critters with any degree of reliability since there's no way to learn atkus beyond what you can get from Bodrus/Hardia and you lose swings the more you train with them. You probably want to focus in higgrus and respia to keep up your health and you also probably want to invest in a sylphstone ring as soon as you hit 2nd.
Ideally if you want to be really strong at healing you may want to put your focus in being able to stay alive in all situations and get folks up well in the midst of a mess. Mephisto is really good at this. Again, higgrus is the key here, but until you hit 4th circle faustus is also key to getting folks up quickly in the midst of the battlefield. Once you're 4th circle you can get a mercurial staff which lets you do a burst heal, which makes faustus less important. Another thing to think about is spiritus, which is useful if you plan to work with other healers, perhaps rodding critters, since it makes it easy for other healers to heal you fast. Spiritus and higgrus make a great combination for rodding hard critters.

See these are all things I don't know /action smiles.
I have so much to learn about this land and it's trainers. So brodus makes me loose my balance? does higgrus make me lose my balance?
I am so confused. /action takes a deep breath.
I guess i need to come up with a plan of action so that my trainings don't interfere. BTW I have never trained with brodus.

Bodrus is a composite trainer. He gives you a little bit of a few different fighter skills including atkus and swengus. But the more atkus you have, the more swinging uses up your balance, and the amount of swengus included in Bodrus is not enough to compensate, so as a result you will have less swings the more you train with Bodrus although you will get a little better at hitting things. There is a cap of 100 Bodrus trainings and when you become a 3rd circle healer you have the option of training with Hardia, the same thing as Bodrus but with a much higher cap.
Higgrus just gives you more health, it shouldn't affect your balance.

There are a few ways I can see for a healer to not fall in the middle of a rescue as far as I can see. Keep in mind that I'm not a healer so all of these ideas are just based on what I've seen other healers do and what I think would make sense.
1) Not get hurt so you can have a good Proximus so you can run away from the critters without getting hurt.
2) Have a high Respia to Faustus ratio so you can heal yourself as you heal someone else.
3) Have enough Respia so you don't lose spirit when healing and have a high Higgrus so you can stand in the middle of critters and heal without falling. A higher than usual Proximus helps here so you can have the critters pound on you while you raise a fallen and then they can run to a safer spot.
4) Be like Hidden and have lots of Spiritus and Higgrus so he is healed easier and he acts as a rod for very strong monsters. He's a good person to talk to if this sounds interesting to you.
I think that talking to many different healers to see what they like to do and how they train. Even though many have their ideas, there are many different kinds of healers who don't follow along the usual path. Some might say that Faustus is evil or Spiritus is evil or Horus is evil but they are all useful to making you the kind of healer you want to be. It is better to walk along the path you have chosen for yourself rather than the path others tell you is the best. Of course, getting opinions from other people is always a good idea!

Honestly, I can't reccomend the path I've taken to anyone these days. It's entirely dependant on the rest of your group, and more specifically, them not being morons. That, unfortunately, is happening less and less these days, because as the community and its inherent safety net grows, it becomes easier and easier for stupid people to do things without consequences and more importantly, without learning to be smarter.

Well i guess i'll just have to play it by ear and contintue to talk to other healers. Fortunatly enough all the healer trainers tell me my persistance is paying off. /action smiles.

Reminds me of a certain DC hunt I was recently on where the healers insisted on healing the fallens while the upright fighters were getting thier arses kicked. One must wonder how someone can be new enough not to know better than that BUT be in the DC.
\action shrugs
At one point, I was yellow with 3 fallens on my chain...exit stage left if you will. The healers attempted to raise those I chained while I took a beating.

Mehan is a fabulous healer. She is a perfect example of what a Respia and Higgrus regiment can do for you. This is personally the path that I am following, except with a little variation. Another great example is Ledward Vicious. I'm fairly certain he could cad a fallen a few snells away and stay on green the entire time! [:D]
