I consulted this back when I first started, but not since.

Drabby - you should have also said just how wrong this is. I've heard that this was true a very long time ago - before the ripture war and before the first mystic was seen in the lands (ooc: early in the beta phase) - but that sharing started working the way it does now well before the ripture war.

Just in case anyone is not sure - you get the + 1% bonus for each exile you share, no matter what their occupation. I think this is stated in the player's manual - which also says that sharing with a mystic has additional, unspecified benefits.

I read it several times over when I was a newbie, and it was pretty accurate then, but now it's too horribly out of date to be any use whatsoever. I've been meaning to contact Braveheart about updating it and fixing the problems, but I haven't gotten around to it.

I think it could be a very useful resource if someone took the time to update it. If Braveheart is still around that would be cool, otherwise maybe we could ask him if someone else can take up the guide.

I also consulted it right after I started playing.

I see Braveheart about once every 6 months. Strange that he plays so little but keeps an account active. I figure he's either clicked by a GM, has a more active character, or just can't let go :)

Breaveheart's guide is one of like 20 that are linked to by DT (or other CL pages) that is horribly out of date. When I started over a year ago, most of the sites I came across were constructed pre-rip.

I take this to mean that it is too out of date for your use, nowadays. For a complete newbie like myself, who started clanning in version 200, the Braveheart guide was my prime source of information for at least the first OOC month or so. It was also one of the things my HWC read before actually deciding to start clanning.

This said, I agree much of the stuff is very very out of date. Just not uselessly so. One of the big problems with old and inaccurate information in scrolls, is that myths (like the GetBodrusToBecomeAFighter one) survives more easily.

hello,

Title say it all.

Shouldn't link on DT page show more up to date new exile information scrolls ?

(a friend of mime was lure into the Bodrus Legend by this 'official' scroll)

I think there are some pretty good scrolls arround.

On a side note note maybe Bravehaert scroll is 'too' detailed, having more fuzzy scrolls might induce newbies to ask question to oldtimers.

I agree with Kirth-the-wise. It's actually the main reason I started this thread. I, like Kirth, relied a lot on the info in Braveheart's guide. Now that I know more, I think that this guide is useful, but the outdated info can induce many misconceptions in newbies.

I was tempted to pull the info from the site and update it and freshen it a bit, but I am not sure now since it appears that Braveheart is still around.

I think it's a great resource and should not be let to become obsolete.

There doesn't seem to be any interest for that update. Oh well.

I think it should be kept up to date - but I was under the impression that you were waiting to hear from (or intending to ask, not sure which) Braveheart about it.

As a newbie, I dunno how much help I could be with it, but if I can help, I'll be glad to.

If you really want to update it, you should probably talk to Braveheart about it. I'm sure he'd be glad to have someone help keep his guide up to date and useful for the next generation of exiles.
