I just discovered the gossamer technique!
That one took awhile considering I got the fell and blood messages on like my first day or two of being third... :)

I've received a number of experiment messages but just today i got the discover message.

Once I get the goss, my collection of the third circle weapons will be complete :)

Considering I occasionally fight some the smaller stuff on coin hunts in nwf and sf, the goss might be pretty good.


I'm thinking I'll get it!

Probably the fell will be the one I use most. I haven't really used the blood blade yet.

The goss will be helpful i think as a normal everyday weapon (maybe)...

The Goss will definately be handy. No just as a coining weapon, which it rules as. It's sweet as all getup for tagging. The darkus on it sucks, but if you're in a large group you don't want to worry about someone missing a tag.

My favourite thing to do with one is wade through verms or leeches, eventually gcp (i hope) without losing balance. There's a rush.

I heard a rumour that the fading of these ranks will be going away. Anyone else hear/know similar? I would hate to see this happen, you can always train it back and you never really lose the rank.

I've heard the same thing and I don't know whether the rank degradation will simply stop for everyone or will be an option once you attain a number of ranks with the weapon. How many ranks is required and whether this option is already implemented is something I don't know.

I hope it doesn't happen for everyone as I like the option of getting the ranks back if I decide I don't like the Fell Blade. If only I had the same option for the 50 ranks I foolishly wasted in being able to use all of the bracers. :rolleyes:

I seem to remember that at one of the fairground Q & A sessions whichever GM it was said that the rank decay with special weapons was only meant to be a temporary thing, to allow people to experiment with the new weapons (and fighting techniques that go with them) without ending up stuck with it if things didnt work out - also i think while DT assessed the idea and checked it was working out ok.
Supposedly at some point they would switch to permanent ranks, as per everything else, however there might be a specific untrainer to get rid of the last few lingering unwanted ranks with these weapons when this change over happened.
THis was quite some time ago, and ive seen no evidence that its going to happen, so maybe they changed their minds and decided to leave things as they are at present....most people seem reasonably happy with the decaying ranks idea as far as i can tell.
