Status of Potentials...revisited

Can we list the potentials and there status somewhere? Its getting rough for my dorfen mind to keep track.

I guess the term "potentials" here refers to people who have expressed their wish to join our clan. As far as I know Fay didn't do that. And I didn't see her clanning since almost 2 ooc-months, if memory serves me right. (Of course that may have to do with the funny timezone I'm living in =)

Depending on the number of potentials at a time, it might be helpful to have a list of how many points they've collected so far. I guess that our VotoTron 5000 has a similar list - at least a mental one, if that's possible for a VotoTron. But maybe we could put this list on the WoD page as well. We don't have to invent a new list for this, as we could simply use the "New Exiles" page for this. I'm aware that this is kind of a hack though since if for example Gurgi wanted to join our clan he would end up on the New Exiles page. =P

Every now and then we joke about trying to get Gurgi to join the clan. I'm thinking maybe we should actually try and get him to join up. We could sell us to him by explaining that a bunch of weaker exiles would be sharing with him, racking in XP for him. Who knows, maybe he'd like to join us anyway on a lark? Anyone on really good terms with the guy? It'd at least be funny....

I used Gurgi as an example since he's the strongest exile I know/heard of. I don't really know him.

I don't think I want someone in the clan because he/she hopes to get shares from tons of weaker exiles/newbies. [I'm not implying that this would be Gurgi's motivation!]

And I fail to see why we should treat super fighters (or super healers or super mystics :) any different than the rest of the exiles. If they don't identify themselves with our goals, what's the point of having them in our clan? If they're only in the clan to rescue us after a clan hunt, they will lose interest in the clan anyway soon. Furthermore I hope that our clan is respected by other exiles because of our actions, not because of the number of ranks of our members.

I'm really thrilled about every member there is in the clan! And that includes the potential members in Nunul's list as well! (at least the ones I happen to know good)

That said let me repeat that I in no way hate/dislike Gurgi or any other super fighter! :) In fact, Gurgi sometimes organizes hunts to ash-island where newbies can attend! I once attended such a hint with him (although that was before Sargon entered the lands.. *wink*;) and it really was fun!

Gurgi is a great guy I have known him forever but he is pretty loyal to his clan I do believe even thow it would be awsome to have him!

I would also like to say I have had invites into other much stronger clans but I would like to be in a clan with people my skill level so that we could all work together to become a well known and respected clan for being helpful to fallen hurt and new puddlebians!

Here is the status of potentials as far as I know it:

Pucker: I am waiting to hear on 3 people still. However, i cant seem to check my E-mail at the moment, so their responses could be there waiting as i write this. From what I've seen though, Its time to start frying up some Windy Bacon <grins>

Heyboy: The vototron 5000 has spoken. Please send votes for Heyboy to Graygradi@windsofdawn.org. Voting closes on Monday, Feb 6th barring that something doesnt malfunction!

Tessa: She has been on many windy chick hunts, acruing her points to join. I'd like to have her at a meeting, but with her time constraints that is unlikely to impossible for her. If anyone has any conerns about voting on a member who hasnt attended a meeting, they should e-mail me, for soon I suspect shell be eligible to join, if she isnt already.

Nugget: From what I heard, he had attended 3 clan events, and that was before this Sunday's meeting and hunt...Unless those were counted already, he should be ready to be voted on at his discretion!

T'rr'l: OOC affairs keep him from playing CL. I hope to see him back after everything's turned out ok for him.

Nuvali: Always welcome to join, as soon as he is done with his travels <smiles>

Fay: havent seen or heard from her in OOC months

Maxmillian: in the same boat as Fay.

Thornin: I see him pop into the realms once a week or so. I have tried sunstoning him but recieved no reply.

Gurgi: A fine fellow and excellent cookie baker. If he were interested in joining, I think he'd make a fine addition, but I believe he is already in a clan, and is quite happy there.

Aerick: I havent seen this exile around very much lately, but I think hed be good for our clan too....Wait a second...hes already in the clan! Well that takes care of that!

There is also another person whom I believe wanted to remain anonymous until s/he decided whether to seek joining us or one other clan. Sadly, I think s/he joined the other one, but I have not confirmed it yet.

Well I know that Phiros and Althus voted, but Althus gave his vote to GrayGradi in person, and Phiros may have only mailed GrayGradi and not you as well Lilly. Perhaps I should setup a votes@windsofdawn.org alias so people don't remember who to mail to? Or membership@windsofdawn.org ?

I'm not sure if Tater has voted yet- I would be really surprised if she had any objections to Pucker's membership, but you never know.

Gurgi left the Brotherhood of Independents when some of his clanmates objected to his participation in Lilit's group, Nox Somethingorother (Snorers? Snorkelers? Sombreros? Swizzlesticks? I forget).

Anyway, Gurgi may indeed be shopping for a clan, but please be aware of his affiliation.

I am not in the Nox Sorora, but I do support them. My personal opinion is that affiliations should not affect our clan membership, since we take an interest in the character of the person, not just their ranks or titles. If we wanted to discuss this further, we could make a new topic for it, so as not to fill up this one with something not related to it.

Thanks for keeping me under consideration! Yeah, I can't come to the meetings, hardly ever. And I've been stuck in the library for a month or more it seems.

But I am very much interested in joining still, yes! I try to get together a "Windy Chick" hunt (/action smirks) every time I venture out, but that's about all I can do right now to help out or participate in "clan events."

Hopefully, someday soon, I will be able to get out more. But thank you for your continued consideration.
