Anyone tell me where to find a solution to the ya'da quest? Thanks!

I'd suggest hoping to high heaven your character isn't named willie, and probably deleting this thread before a Mystic sees it.

Nobody's going to tell you. The fun is in figuring it out yourself.

Enjoy!

Hidden is correct in that no one (at least I hope not) is going to tell you the solution to this particular problem or any of the other many puzzles you find. Not only is solving them on your own (or with a bit of help) a part of the Mystic training but so is not telling other people the answers (I think).

So if you don't like solving puzzles or looking past what you think is obvious to the truth beneath, you probably won't like being a Mystic. Not that fighters and healers can't like doing this things but you really have to like them if you want to be a Mystic because that's our specialty.

One of the great joys of any experience is discovery. It comes in many forms, but the more anticipation that precedes it, the sweeter the joy. The most memorable kiss is often the first, the sight of a rainbow after a storm is remembered for years.

DT has gifted us exiles with the rare treasure of an ongoing voyage of discovery that is the Mystic class. It is not ment to be power class in the fashion of mages or wizards of other games. It is ment to challenge and intregue those who would become bored with the same things that fasinate those who thrive on the life of a fighter or healer. The path is the challenge, and the challenge is the reward.

No one will tell you about how to solve a quest, not because of any code of omerta, or because they want to watch you flounder around. Those that know the answer will not tell you because they understand that the only true reward requires challenge.

Yes, you will become frustrated (you are ment to be!) or you will become bored. If you find that the boredom prevails, then you have learned that this is not the path for you.

All of the advice I have seen about Mystics includes this- it is best to first discover the lands as another class. Fighters and Healers do learn about Mystics, we escort them on their quests, we see what they are holding when something interesting happens. If what we see should spark some curiosity that can not be quenched, only then we should consider a Mystic character.

Willie, the test is not the quest, the test is the journey. If you really want someone to give you the cheats for the quests, I suggest you talk to Resetus in the fairground, then Master Fistus in North Farm. They have the answers you really need.

Speak for your self [:p]

Personally, I kinda like watching people that can't figure out a simple puzzle.

Heh - Lex did the puzzle that you get in that little hut east of KB about 15-20 times before I knew that there was 1) no end, 2) no "reward", and 3) it was really put there for mystics.

I always thought that solving the puzzles should also give you a bit of experience. Granted, they are for mystics, but if you are a fighter or healer and having 'fun' playing the games, shouldn't you be rewarded?

Firstly, Willie is what people call me in real life :-). Second, I am a fighter, just wanted to know what the answer was. Sorry to insult all of the mighty mystics of the world.

Ah, sorry. I just figured you were a wanabe mystic because there is no puzzle there for fighters. I would say more than half of the mystic "quests" aren't accessible to fighters; that's one of them.

But to my knowledge I never got a "You receive experience" message.

Oops. The original question was hypothetical. I don't think that anyone gets experience for solving the puzzles. Otherwise, I'd have more ranks than Michael. [;)]

Wow. I had no idea mystics didn't get experience for that. That just makes no sense at all. I mean skinners get exp for skinning, healers get healing exp... why not puzzle exp? Oversight by DT? That just seems wrong.

Maybe finally solving them is supposed to be the reward? I don't know exactly but getting experience for solving them would be a nice bonus since some of them are rather arduous.

On the other hand, there's a limited number of puzzles so having another bonus experience would be a better. What this would be, I don't know.

Not sure about (1). I've done 50 of them, and haven't gotten a new one in a long time. I've asked the gods if Geisela could keep track of the ones she's already asked me to help her with, apparently to no avail. It's annoying to make that trek, only to get a repeat. But I keep hoping.[:)]

I don't know what credit mystics get for solving such puzzles, and I doubt a mystic will tell me.[:)]

I see no reason why a quest or Puzzle should not give experience- the first time it is solved. If the gods know when I complete a hunters challenge, why cant they keep track of some of the puzzles.

I certainly think that the puzzles should have an experience boost for the mystics that solve them.

I have done several different puzzles, for fun. I used to keep a scroll in my pocket to solve when I fell. It is also fun for playing rock, scroll, dagger with Algy. [:)]

Dunno either as I solve then as mere exile. [:D]
There is a finite number of scrolls (about ten or so).
Unlike Pyr you can try Giseila's scrolls as non exile (non mystic ?), but I think you can decipher them forever.

Taryn.

They get tokens that they need to get promoted. I guess they have to prove how much they suck.
