got the gossamer...

I finally bought the gossamer. I've been saving up for a while (which takes a long time being in the library :)
(that means I'm now working on the 750 I owe ya Kiri :)


No ranks in it yet - working on it! One thing I noticed is that with no ranks, the goss uses even lass balance than my rapier...


So now I've got all three. I'll train some in the goss and experiment with it. I still have to experiment with my blood too. Some day when we're not in too serious conditions and there's a healer nearby I can try it out...

As far as I can tell the gossamer uses less balance than any weapon in the game. However, I never equipped one until after I qualified. It's possible it behaves differently if you are a healer or an unqualified fighter.

Also, the goss seems to give no Atkus bonus and no Darkus bonus - although... there seems to be a Darkus bonus with training. Not really more overall Darkus, just a better chance of doing your own maximum. At one point I was one-hitting GCP about 2/3 of the time. Without training Darkus and getting like 20 more goss ranks, it went up to about 90%.

I used a Goss for a little while before I qualified for it and I can say with some certainty that being qualified does make a difference. Without being qualified, I found that the Goss used just as much and maybe slightly more balance than my Rapier. After I qualified, the Goss used noticeably less balance and it seemed better on Regia as well. I decided that, for me, it wasn't worth the ranks to specialize in Goss when the Rapier does so well for coin hunting.

That's what I've noticed too with just using it a bit today in NBC. No ranks yet but it does seem pretty quick (and I already have a pretty quick balance recovery).
I think I'll be happy with it! I'll see if it replaces my rapier as my main weapon...
