Since she's too modest (or still too much in shock) I'd like to say that Kiriel passed the 5th circle test yesterday.

Thanks all! I did actually post it in the timeline area and I included the visionstone. Unfortunately what the visionstone doesn't show is my ooc hubby coaxing me through the whole thing. The last few tests I failed mainly due to nerves, and my wonderful hubby sat next to me during the whole test, making fun of the critters and keeping me calm. It worked wonderfully!
BTW, I did try the 6th test- I almost killed one midnight wendy!
Steady- I have about 1650-1700 ranks now, but most folks pass 5th with less. There's actually not a significant gap for many fighters between 4th and 5th- it depends on your training. You need almost as much atkus for 4th as you need for 5th so the important training is really darkus and detha/balthus. Until I upped my darkus I really didn't do well at all in the test because the banshee troiluses really fast!

The distance between passing 4th and passing 5th seems really short. I remember you passing 4th and it didn't seem that long ago :)

You need about 50-75 atkus (75 is a better estimate if I recall correctly that you're a Halfling) and the ability to brick the ferals after one swing. Swengus is good for this.
First, kill the large vermine -- if you're able to pass it at all, they shouldn't be a challenge. Avoid the ferals while you're doing this.
Then, single out a feral and lead it over to near the walls. Allow it to swing at you several times, then when it circles into the wall, stand next to it, trapping it between you and the wall. This will force it to swing a few more times, making it easy to hit. Repeat as necessary.

Thanks Dani! Hidden pretty much covered the standard strategy for the 2nd circle test, but I will add a note. Basically you have a much better chance of passing if you can get each large vermine in one swingout. This allows you to take them both out very quickly, leaving you plenty of time to focus on the ferals in peace. By the time you're ready to pass that shouldn't be too difficult. Luckily the 2nd circle test is also an easy one to practice for since ferals are available in large numbers very close to town, so you can get a good feel for how well you brick them and timing the swings.
