Hi
Has anyone tried apple's new music service http://www.apple.com/music/store/ yet?
It seems pretty slick. I can't buy anything yet (US only for now), but the interface is nice.
Anyone try it out?
Any thoughts on aac vs mp3?

I can't use it either (I'm in Canada too), but I hear there is a pc-only service that is much cheaper and gives the same service.

I've tried it, and I think it's great! The tracks have the album art embeded, which is nice, and they sound good like you'd expect them to. Download was fast. Selection (which you can see for yourself) is not the best, but I expect it will expand with time. I think the prices are really quite reasonable too. The aac files work fine on my iPod and there are no restrictions on copying, just playing, so there aren't any backup issues.

I like the service. I listen to very little music myself- pretty much the only music I ever buy is Pink Floyd. I hadn't bought any CDs in years because I had all the ones that had a lot of songs I liked on them. But there were a few songs I liked that were on CDs that I couldn't justify buying the whole CD for. So Wednesday I bought 9 tracks from 4 different albums and now my collection is complete!

I like music!!!! [:D]
My 10GB iPod is almost full. [:(]
I need a new iPod! [:D]
I've only bought 2 songs off apple's service so far myself though, I just went on a CD buying binge the week before, so I couldn't really justify any more. [;)]

It looks like an interesting idea, but absolutely none of the music they have interests me, so I'm rather left out in the cold.
Plus, I have a PC with KaZaA and very few scruples about screwing the RIAA.

EEP! It's horrible! It's waaaay too easy to use, has a remarkably fast download speed, has enough of a song catalog that I can spend hours just listening to the 30 second previews, and a very clean billing method (They consolidate all of your purchases for a 24-hour period onto one itemized billing, no pages and pages of $0.99 charges).
I have replaced most of my illegally 'shared' mp3s with legitimate copies, and will clean out the rest when the songs become available.
Now all I have to do is deal with my AmEx bill. :P
