Aitnos in library?

What does Aitnos in the library actually do? I know he says he can help you apply experience gained in the library to your current trainer "more quickly" but what does that actually mean?

Does the experience count more if you let him apply it? Or does "more quickly" mean something else?

I've been wondering about this for some time and haven't thought to ask before.

If you have a bunch of stored ranks, Aitnos (and his counterparts in most of the other libraries) can help you cash them in faster, as opposed to getting a ? You feel more blah. message every one and a half minutes.

The downside is that if you like counting ranks, you'll never know how many he actually converted for you.

Also, if you know you only have one rank coming, you can go to him, get it, and then check your message. I don't think you'll have that problem yet ;)
