If I can be around during the Nebielympics, I'd be glad to officiate a cliff diving event.
Distance, creative yells and other style points would all go into judging the contestants.

I'm going to bring back my Push-a-thon, Treasure Hunt, and Indoor Push Ball.

I'm still thinking of others that won't be rank related. What I'd like to see is another trivia contest, and maybe an identify contest such as what you have to do to get an alchemy bowl. What I end up organizing depends on what others come up with as I don't want to be the only one making events.

We could always hold "The Jade Depart" - exiles line up at the entrance to Jade noids- the one who makes it the furthest down wins [:D]


I would like to hold a crafting event- from the opening ceremonies to just before the closing, exiles must gather all ingredients during the time (but items such as barrels, glass bottles, alchemy bowls, etc may already be owned or purchased/borrowed), cook/brew/distill/craft anything they can- and the exiles who present the top 3 spreads win. All consumables to be consumed at the closing ceremonies, all non consumables (lyfe necklace) to be donated as prizes.

It would also help if we could all /pray that Patti Spriggin will return to the brewery with a new recepe during the time of the event, as soon as we settle when that is.

Ill help out with any underground events, Ive got a good knowledge of the area.

Also, I found (while doing the guard quest) 2 ways into town without passing a gurd, not couning through purgatory (by Depart or pendant) That made me think that it would be fun to do a 'secret ways and places relay' where exiles have to find some places they should know about- safe trees, caves, hidden libraries, special teleports- all the non-pf ways which dont look like ways.

One thing I was thinking of was a tag team race of some kind where a newbie would have a partner who is higher level. I think this might be fun, mixing higher level folks in. I'm not sure exactly what kind of competition it would be but maybe you guys have some ideas?

This sounds interesting. Could do a mini hunt for collecting coins with a newbie and partner. This could be done individually with the "partner" reporting income and at the end of the week prizes could be awarded..... may be to hard to keep track of the results.

We could hunt for just one hour and return, together. Maybe schedule serveral mini hunts through out the week.

Call me crazy but I love Bob's Jade noids depart run idea, I'd do that, just hard to judge since you'd have to have someone alive in there to see who made it the furthest. I have about 200 ranks now with Runus. Weee Splat! All the other suggestions sound fun too, I hope I dont become a lord before it starts.

You can read more about the Newbielympics here (http://www.windsofdawn.org/nlympics/). We've just scheduled them for July 12th - July 20th. There will be a variety of events during that time period and as we plan them we'll add them to the schedule. Any exile who isn't yet being called Lord or Lady (550 ranks) by the townspeople qualifies to participate. The events will be held by Winds of Dawn and Friends of Dawn but everyone is welcome to help out.

Don't forget about Untrainus! I can't think of a single time I've regretted untraining! Except maybe that time I untrained to learn to make potions of energy... Nah, that was fun too. :)

And the Newbielympics sound like they'll be a lot of fun! I would suggest doing something like a history or story-writing contest, where Newbies would have to write a (short) story about either their character's history or some of the history of the mainland. The bonus is that you could take any history written and ship it off to Joe to be added to the Official History scrolls. :)

I surveyed the Area for the Hide and Seek Event. I propose these in and out of bounds areas:

In Bounds Snells:
Puddleby- Center, north, south, east, west.
Farms- North, North-East, East (North and South,) South, South-West.
Fairgrounds and all areas beyond including Agratis

Out-of-Bounds areas in those snells (generally any are that is restricted to a class or clan, need pathfinding, require payment to enter, or simply too dangerous for newbies)

Mystic Guild in the restricted area
Healers Guild in the restricted area
Mystic Pub and underneath
Healer Pub
Pucks Tavern
Women's Hut
Alchemest's Hut
Clan House (the one you rent)
Clan Hut (the one you join a clan in)- only the back room is out of bounds

Are we going to use the same rules as last year? Find and /push the 7 hiders- Contestants start in the town center lawn. 30 OOC minutes per round, exiles that tag all 7 hiders advance to the next round.

W also need to station a duty healer in town to take care of Rat tower casualties.

I have a ton of prizes which I can donate. They are (2) sunstones (which nobody seems to need, [:(] ), (3) orga eyes, shirts, pants, rapier, daggers, brambleberry clusters (which nobody seems to want), wood, etc.

This is a tragedy, and it is OUR fault, not the GMs. Sunstones are WAY too easy to get. For a long time, I advocated sunstones being free. I don't believe that anymore.

I remember when I got my first sunstone. I got it from a clanmate. It was a worn SS, ready to shatter. I had been playing for about nine months. (It was another six months before I could get it tuned.) It really was a different game after I could hear the SS traffic. Hell, at the time, a lot of people didn't have sunstones. When was the last time you asked, "does someone have a sunstone?"

When was the last time someone gave a tip to have someone else SS for them? I remember when that happened. We -- and I don't mean WoD, I mean older exiles -- need to stop handing out SSs like candy. We don't need to make noobs suffer for them, but they need to put some sort of effort into it.
