View Full Version : Humble Request

Well, it has come to light that at long last, I have decided to change my clothing. The green shirt I wear was forced on me by Kira because my previous combination (which I forget) was deemed ... ugly.
I must confess that I have absolutely no fashion sense (perhaps this is related to my continued celibacy), and so I put force a request to interested parties in the clan to give me a make-over.
I mainly want something distinctive, that is not used much if at all, and which doesn't involve any pricey dying. What I was thinking was a grey shirt with white pants. Comments/ideas?

So gold shirts and pants are out?
No pricey dying there!
But a grey shirt with white pants? Sounds kinda blah to me. You need some colour!
I guess if you go with grey and white and then bright purple or pink hair or something. That'd be ok...
Have you tried playing around with Stylus 2.0?
You can play around with all of the available outfits and dyes, etc...

Oh, I didn't know there was a 2.0! Wow, I feel like I've been stuck in the stone age of fashion.
Actually, it wouldn't matter. They all look the same to me! =(
I don't want my hair to go funky though. I like it the way it grows. Same for skin.

Aerick if you need 2.0, email me or post here and I'll make it available on my web scroll...
That goes the same for anyone else who wants a copy of it...

Personally I like your clothes Aerick, but I'll play a bit with Stylus and see if I can come up with some suggestions.

Could someone post a link to Stylus2.0 or put in on their scrolls? Not that I intend to change my extremely distinctive clothing but I like to play with this tool. :)
And not that it matters but I like your clothing too, Aerick. :)

Yar, I feel the painful tug of peer pressure!
A lot of it is functional. I want a healer color on me, so people can readily see that I'm a healer, and know to share with me or get their kneecaps broken.
But then, I suppose I could be persuaded to be lazy about it and stay the same....

Wow! I had 2.0 of Stylus and then I did a search on the net and found Stylus 2.3b...
I thought I had a link to a Stylus web page but I couldn't find it in my bookmarks.
Anyways, I did a little search on the net and the Dwarven Militia's download page was first on the list and it has Stylus:

I haven't tried 2.3b yet so download it and try it out...

I tried fiddling with Scribus to find some nice outfits for you. I'm not sure how much dying costs, but I came out with 2 combos that I think look nice:
Blue shirt bleached yellow + white pants + blue shoes
Grey shirt dyed turquoise + white pants + blue shoes
Both colors I think are nice and go well with your complexion and are distinctive, plus they integrate the white pants to show you're a healer.
Can anyone tell me how much bleaching and dying costs?

It depends on the dye.
Brambles are least expensive. Then lilas and then orgas. I think that's the order (lilas and orgas may be reversed)...

brambles are yellow
lilas are turqoiuse
orgas are purple
The lilas and orgas may be reversed. Next time someone gets out of the library, can someone please check the dye shop and confirm this one way or another. I guess also check the prices of bleaches vs dyes too...

brambles are yellow, lilas are turqoise, and orgas purple. it is possible to mix the dyes too, to get colors like red.

Here's some info on dying, FWIW: (your clothes!)
Dye costs 10x what bleach costs for any given color.
