I was thinking, in part just because it's a bad habit of mine, and in part because of the un-professionalism of our clan hunt. What I thought of was the Puddleby Militia. I had considered joining it a little while back, but decided against it, mostly because I serve my clan before the militia, which would be a conflict of interest.

However, wouldn't it be nifty if we opened up our own company set up like the Militia, and maybe even under their orders (or at least under their guidance)?

Even if we don't want to do this, I think it would be a really great idea for someone who knows a whole lot about strategy to appraise our members, and come up with guidelines of what we should all do (ie - who clears junk, who backpacks, who lures). That way, we all know what we SHOULD be doing, and could maybe revert to order in moments of high tension.

That said, I certainly prefer chaotic, disordered hunting when we're out for fun. But I think the option of being orderly should be ready for crisis's that come up.

I have no qualms with bringing in an outside party, however...

We really need to come up with a series of organized hunts. We won't get used to hunting with each other...if we aren't hunting together. Don't get me wrong, I love pushball as much as the next dorf,. But lets face facts, hunting should be one of our top activities, especially if we only have a limited window within the week where we can gather for an event. Newbies will not be all too excited about watching us have fun. They need the experience...WE need the experience.

More hunts, longer hunts...more organized hunts. It will help keep the cash coming in for supplies and give newbies an event to join us in.

I am no longer content with hunting on my own during the week...always hopeful that i may catch a member on when I am.

I hate to sound so harsh, but maybe someone needs to be.

I have hunted with a group that is very organized about how they do things, and they are quite successful at getting things done because of it. The best way to handle us becoming more effective is to know what each person is capable of, and how to compliment that. For instance, I know that Kiriel likes to form a train of enemies when there get to be too many- she needs alot of space to run them as she fights. A good pairing for her, thus, woudl be someone who has a caduceus and proximus, so they can walk behind her at a distance and keep her health up whilst not blocking her. I, personally, have low faustus and high respia, so i make a good "backpack" for a fighter who doesnt like to move (usually one with alot of detha), or for healers who drain their health quickly. The best way for us to ascertain who compliments who in our clan is to just start hunting toogether and experimenting.

Dredging this up again, we might want to train with some vision of our role in the clan. Right now, I'm increasing my Horus a bit (probably to 20-30).

Then, I am considering joining the innumerable ranks of 3rd Circle healers with a caduceus. It would help me in my backpacking, as I could allow the fighters freedom of movement, but it would be about 50 ranks I could otherwise put in other skills. Oh, the agony of choice.

Also, I think we should either recruit or create a ridiculously high-Horus healer.

I would lean towards creation. it doesn't seem legit to me to recruit just for a certain skill. I would rather see on of our own advance to the point which you spoke of.

Not sure if this is OT, but I started to train with Hermit to get some PF. (Thanks Farhope!) Once I'm able to enter NNF and the NBC without help (and fall within 10 seconds) I'll switch back to Eva and train with her until she doesn't want me anymore. That's my plan for the future.

By the way Aerick...if and when Tater pops her tiny hobbling head back into the lands, AND, if she decides to join with us...didn't she pass 3rd

Kiriel

She did pass 3rd circle, and she was wearing a spanking new turquoise shirt before she left.

I don't fight the same when alone or when other people. Alone, I run a lot (perhaps like Kiri, not sure). But when someone else, I usually "brick" even when I can not! It is silly but it is my "too much protective" nature.
oh, this not apply when I am with a better fighter than me (like Kiri :-), then I run one time more.

I have much to learn about strategy and tactics...

About my training: low Atkus (attack), no Troilus, almost no Detha (defense)... but much Swengus (balance: this means I have 5 swings with my axe) and good Histia.

[a good amount of my training doesn't go to fighter trainers but: Marsh hermite, Skea, Loovma, Spirtus, Mentus or language]

This means:
1) I am not good without a healer.
2) I can "brick" up to an artak, no more, but if I swing out, I have no defense at all.
3) I have still difficulties to hit ferals.
4) I can take a good amount of hits but I recover really slowly.

To continue this sharing:

I have max Bodrus (100), so while I can't really fight well, I can take on some junk, especially in newbie areas.

I depend a great deal on Higgrus (taking damage). I have decent Higgrus for any healer, and a lot for my relative strength.

This means that, though critters hit me regularly, I can take a lot of hits before going down.

I regain spirit while healing people who share with me, so I can heal until my health runs out (which takes several minutes). I'm not all that fast because of this, but I have not-too-shoddy speed.

My Horus is terrible. I will work on this at some point.

I am going to pick up the cad and get some Proximus as soon as I get 20 Horus. This will let me backpack without being right in the fighters way.

Good!

You never want to get in a fighter's way! :)

Aerick

See, I like the system that if the fighter needs to get out, they pull me in. Then I keep the critters on me while the fighter disengages, and I retreat after the fighter to a safer location.

It works well, but most aren't aware that I can (usually) take the beating.

If I'm not mid- to deep- yellow, and we're hunting anywhere our clan can go, don't worry about me. =)

Aerick, a bit of advice on Proximus and Respia as I've observed them (ooc with my 3

One thing about hunting. I have a very good atkus boost, but some do not like it. If that is the case, before a hunt takes place please notify me if you do not want to be boosted ever. And anytime during the hunt if you feel you need one just ask.

Phiros.

Um, what could be reasons to not like boosts like that? Do I miss something obvious? :)

Nuvali

Some fighters note that the effects of a good atkus boost impedes their balance, throwing off their rhythm. I, for one, enjoy a nice atkus boost. It gives me a good excuse to take a couple sips from my flask between swings. :-)

Phiros

As most fighters have notices, the more they train with atkus, the more balance a swing takes. Atkus boost does not lower ones balance, per say, it just makes your swing better, using more balance per swing.
I would also like to add, there are certain situations where one would need a boost. Like say our hunting party was attacked by a drake. I still will not boost you unless you say otherwise. I have found out boosting people even if I think they need it may anger them. So don't be afraid to say "Phiros, get your mysfit butt over here..."

Actually, do be afraid of saying that, at least in that way. I do not approve of the mockery directed towards those who should be the revered wise ones of our lands. I will lose a great deal of esteem for individuals who choose to neglect to respect our mystics.

This is for the 'mysfit' word. Requesting aid is, of course, not something I'd get upset over.

Fell free to use whatever mystic powers you have on me...

Atkus boosts and whatever other boosts you have are welcome!

This healer LOVEs atkus boosts (at least when the situation allows me to risk doing a little fighting). It's the only way we can get a tag on some of those critters (Cinder Bears and Willow Giants come to mind.)
