Well, I have taken the plunge. I have scheduled an outing for the 24th of November (day after Thanksgiving to those in the USA). This will be our return to Fire (Gilligans?) Isle. Hopefully, it will be a 3 hour tour, and not a depart-fest! I believe if we have enough people in attendance, both from in the clan and anyone who we can drag along, we can make some headway. I will be studying Lundar's maps and planning a...plan...of research. It would be neat if we could find something new. I will be contacting Lundar and filling him in on our intentions, and hopefully, he can suggest a place to tackle. The Voolkuns (or however you say it) would be the logical goal. Maybe we could make contact. I do not believe this is a special day as far as moon phases and such. More details will be posted here as I get them.

Look forward to a big attendance!

I'm looking forward to this. I should be able to make it.

By the way, I had, today, a good hunt (exploration) with Lundar on Devil island. It was very funny... and I only fell once (in a cave where there were 5 nigh wendeckas and a maha).

Sounds good!

So are we trying to get tons of people invited?
Or more of a controlled exploration?

Either one sounds fun. I'm sure at least part of our group will somehow get separated and need a rescue... :)

I just remember last time we did this. I was fallen for 2 and a half hours and I was calling myself Miss Mangled. I needed like 10 healers or something to get healed...

Don't worry! I'm ready to fall again! ;)

As many exiles as we can fit on the island Konoko! I would highly encourage you to invite the other clans you are in touch with.

I'm toying with the idea of making it a party on south beach FI + exploration for those who have the gumption. We could get a couple kegs! (if'n the treasurer OKs the outlay of cash of course!) There will certainly be a great many exiles clanning that night. Lets consider ourselves the "hosts" of the party!

This does not mean I will be shirking my duties as investigator...although as Nuvali puts it "lubricant of the mind" may be involved in my explorations.

If everyone is OK with this, Konoko could send out the formal invites to the other clans or even on the news groups if she sees fit.

This could be big!

H'loi all! Tan'ki for the invite to join in on the hunt. With so many exiles storming Devil's Isle, someone will surely stumble across something! Surely this will be a very exciting event, and I will definately be there(/action marks his calendar).

I will post a message about it to the newsgroup...

I don't yet have all the interclan communication stuff setup. I may directly email a few but the newsgroup is probably the best bet to reach the most...

Fire Island party! Woo!

Treasurer:
I'll approve two kegs for the event. Though we won't be using both unless there is sufficient turn-out. If a substantial amount of money comes in before the event, I may authorize more kegs as well, but again, we won't be dumping 5 kegs on 12 explorers. (maybe 4...)

One other thing - we could perhaps have it as a "Welcome the Winds of Dawn" party...

Kind of an informal party hosted by us to the other clans, to the clanless, to all of Puddleby...

I could personally spring for a keg. Well, donate some money to the fund for a keg is probably a better way to word it. Perhaps if we say in our invite that there will be a keg or two that might increase attendance...

This is a great idea Nunul. It should help increase knowledge in the existance of our clan. I'll make sure I word it so that everyone knows it is open to anybody and everybody...

One other thing Konoko. If you could stress that I will be conducting research and it would mean a great deal to me if the exiles in attendance, especially the ones exploring, would record their evening on Fire isle in case of anything eventfull happening...ie. discoveries.

Woohoo!

You bet...

I'm working on posting it right now...

Well heck, if it's going to be a full-out party like that, we'll be getting at least three kegs. They don't spoil, so we may as well have them on hand.
Also, the Treasury will cover boat fees for clan members and some others whose presence would be desirable (maybe a rep from each clan, and mystics, and Lundar, and a high Horus healer, people like that. Nunul and I'll figger it out).

I've posted to the newsgroup.
I just checked on deja. It's there but no followup posts or anything yet. Hopefully exiles will read it and show up.

Is it maybe worthwhile to have a little blurb on the web page about the event with links to the fire isle maps. Then do the Koppi Yell thing for the week to let everyone know about it...

Maybe also mention that after the chaos storm this week, who knows what new and wonderous things may be found on Fire Isle...

McBain and Olie found a way into a cave that led to the voolcuns earlier today. i avoid fire island, so i dont know why thats significant, but they seemed quite pleased about it, so i assume it was a big thing. I seem to recall there being a possible mention of this in the future investigations - perhaps talking with one of them will garner some information.

Having Koppi yell is a great idea Konoko. If when you talk to other clans, maybe some (especially DM) could come up with some "entertainment".

Does anyone have McBain or Olie's enchanted mail addresses?

McBain's email is: mcbain@mac.com

At least that's what is listed on the newsgroup...

Since McBain was one of the people who found this new cave, it'd be great if he was one of those to join us on our Fire Isle thing...
You'll contact him then Nunul?

I'm not sure what his feelings will be as far as having people invade his discovery so soon. He may be delighted to have the company or he may want to continue his exploration alone. I will contact him and feel out the issue. In any event, I will extend an invitation to him and Bored Zo.

Well if he didn't want people there then he shoudln't be talking about it on the newsgroup... :)

I just want to get his input as far as if he thinks the Voolkons are a bit shy, friendly or hostile before bringing a large group. A smaller group organized to parlay with the Voolkons may be neccessary rather than a large, drunk and bloodthirsty group bent on slaughtering them 8D

I'm really disappointed to have to say this but I might not be able to make it to the fire isle hunt tonight :(

I'll try but some OOC stuff has come up. When ever it's over, I'll try to meet up with everyone on Fire Isle.

By the way, keep your eyes out for Deedlit. I mentioned this fire isle thing to her and she said she might pop by. So if you see her, please see if she's still interested in joining the fire isle party!

Please make sure to have your visionstones out!

Thannks!
