Marsh Hermit Sick

Cousin Kaerie was out of the library this evening when a mystic in town sensed that the Marsh Hermit was ill. Kaerie went to his hut to see if her moonstone would be of any help.

The Marsh Hermit looked the same as always and Kaerie's moonstone had no effect. However, in addition to his list of crazy phrases, the Hermit occasionally said "I'm sick.. agghh" and "I think it was too much beer."

Kaerie's sunstone query about the matter brought only some mockery of the Hermit's eating habits from those clanning.

Has the Marsh Hermit (or other NPC) ever gotten sick before? If not, could this new illness be something that bears watching?

Or could it be that the Marsh Hermit has been infected by -- bah bah BUMMM -- MeshRowl?

I saw Crius swoon over Kani the other day and he's been the most vocal out of all the townsfolk. Personally, I think the guy's a little funny in the head.

I don't remember any NPC ever getting sick before and I don't know why the mystic would have sensed this one being ill. It's certainly a strange development and I'll be sure to visit the Marsh Hermit next time I'm out to see how he's doing. The dank marsh air certainly can't be good for someone of his advanced age.

Of course, it could be nothing more than a bored GM having some fun on a slow evening, but there's always the chance that something's up.

I went back to check on how the Marsh Hermit's doing. He now seems to be channeling the spirit of the old "Eliza" conversation program from the early days of computing . After talking to him a while, I recorded a visionstone of some dialog, which I've uploaded (see the uploads page).

His responses vary. The first time I asked him if he was well (before I started recording the visionstone) he said "Of course I'm not well!" Then he "yakked" all over everything. Later he said he was fine. See the visionstone for more.
