Status of Rangers?

I've kind of been hiding away in the comfy chair for a while so I haven't heard anything about rangers.

What's the latest on them?
Anyone heard anything?
Any juicy news?
Or rumours?


Depending on what they're like, I think I want to try to be a ranger rather than a champion.

No information has been given recently. Not even a nibble of their status. Furthermore, no one has asked about them on the Sentinel recently so it seems we're all waiting for them to come when they're ready.

The last time I heard about Rangers, it seemed they were nearly finished but that was a few months ago.

Anyone have any idea what the new messages mean or how things work especially in the context of being a Ranger?

From what I understand-
There are three different messages. You can get each multiple times, and the effect is cumulitive according to TinkerGM. Furry creatures have been giving these rank messages, and non furry are supposed to as well, but there is a small gerbel training problem with the current update.
The Goss is definitly a requirement, though it is unconfirmed if the exact rank requirement is 75.
Pathfinding is a confirmed non-requirement (not needed at all)
Skinning is unknown as a requirement- I do not know of any

I believe you can. Steady's clicker has two characters both of which are 3rd Circle. Neither one have Goss ranks but both get the messages. Actually they only get two of the three.

They have only seen two types of messages. One about traveling and one about knowledge about creatures.

What is the third?

From comments I've heard broadcast, I think the third has to do with goss useage - something about your blade sparkling or something like that.

Well that makes sense why I haven't seen the third type of message.

5,000 coins were needed to purchase one. Haven't checked in a while, that may have changed. Actual materials may be necessary now.

I've been keeping track of the number of each messages I'm getting. I'm guessing that this might be a little like qualifiying for special weapons where you get a lot of identical messages until something puts you over the top and you get a new message and something happens.

So my plan right now is to kill lots of feral's. The gaining knowledge from creatures is the only one that I can guess the trigger for, and ferals are the creatures I've gotten the message from the most. (Also I could use a little more money)

I'll also have to try and find the ranger hall sometime as well.

To concentrate on one creature is a good idea. I will do the same, not sure which one though.

I could use the money also. Need that Goss.

I'll keep my eye's open for the Ranger Hide out. My guess is you will not be able to enter until you have qualified to be a ranger.
