There will be no giving of souls, especially to Malkor!

The behavior of Spriggins is the same. If you run towards them they will disappear and appear directly behind you sometime close and sometimes far. If you're fast you can turn around and hit them before they disappear again but it's very difficult.

You really need two people to do this effectively. One person is the runner and runs towards a spriggin while the other person is the hitter and stays behind the runner and hits the spriggins when they appear.

With this method it's much easier to kill spriggins although even this isn't full proof because where the spriggin appears isn't the same very time and you need to be quick on your feet to hit them before they poof again.

If you can corner them near a snell edge you can trap them as well. A spriggin cannot teleport off the snell, so you can maneuver them around to where they don't have anywhere behind you to teleport to and whack them.

Actually, this is no longer true. You used to be able to trap them this way, but some versions back, the gods saw fit to make spriggins a bit smarter so that they will teleport in a different direction if they don't have room to teleport behind you. Now you have to keep running at them - back and forth - until you catch them being slow to teleport (or use the 2-person trick).

Actually, this is only true of some areas. Cornering a spriggin in the Spirit Wood or Jannar's Grove is now impossible, but it should still work in most other areas. Running at a spriggin with a tree against your back will also cause spriggins to pause as they search for a suitable location to teleport to.

My statement was based on observations of spriggins in SF.

If'n ya kin herd tha majority o tha sprigs away from tha entrance o Spiritwood and then only bounce one on tha entrance, ya kin slowly and methodically cut down on their population. But tha emphasis be on slowly.

My experience has been that Spriggins teleport in the excat opposite direction you ran at them... I'm not sure if they teleport farther the faster you charge at them. I do agree that it's much easier with 2 people, a fighter to kill and any other profession to make it teleport. I've never personally killed one... being a healer my balance recovery isn't good enough to hit one after they zap me ;)

Depending on how many there are on the snell, killing one by yourself is relatively easy if there isn't other junk on the screen to get in your way. Of course with 2 people it's usually a piece of cake. However, with just one, the same plan doesn't work.

I'm just talking about the old fashioned way of just killing them outright rather than herding/trapping them which can make it even easier. This is more along the lines of a spriggin you find all on his lonesome with no other sprigs to zap you.

I find the trick is predicting when he's going to teleport away. I just run at it and then guess when he's about to jump and then immediately turn the exact opposite direction. The trick is to do this before or as he jumps. Repeat this a few times and you should be able to hit him quite easily.

I find that they tend jump less futher away so eventually you tire em out and you can hit em. Of course, trees and junk on the screen (vermine, rats, etc) can get in your way so you may have to start over.

I don't know what the reward is for the sprigs that actually steal money. The regular ones that I usually find just give 1-3 coins. I don't go looking for sprigs. I just hope the money stealing ones aren't about :)
