OK,
Here's what we are facing:

Have you had any talk with Nyssa?
Have you discussed strategy with her?

I've been telling people it's been planned by the Winds of Dawn and by Nyssa on behalf of OWE but I haven't actually talked with Nyssa.

Do you have her email? Perhaps email her or see her online and tell her about the discussions on our forum so she can voice her suggestions, feelings, etc...

I have been updating her on the progress and I sent her a link to this forum. I haven't seen her in the lands that often recently. I am speaking with her as I am able. 8D

I'm not sure as far as a strategy goes. Its going to have to be: kill all critters and hope for the best. We should strive to have all cleared by 5PM EST and hold the farms for between 1/2 and 1 hour total to make sure we have at least a good chance of having all clear simultaneously.

Communication will be touchy as SS spam will likely draw BK. We can only split into groups, start clearing at a given time, hold farms when clear and meet up afterwards at the guard tower. Hopefully, there will be some result. Not many experienced players hold much hope for anything special coming of this, but if something did...you'd better believe WoD would be noticed and acknowledged.

I emailed Nyssa this afternoon after I sent the above post. I cc'd you on it Nunul...

Hopefully she'll pop by and have a look!

Do you think it would be worth while emailing helpful GM to get any input (no matter how cryptic it may be :) as to whether or not this rat/vermine farm hunt will be useful or beneficial to the status of other quests or goings-on? I am referring to things like farming and Gaia's temple...

One thing I want to make sure is on people's minds is that this is largely to be a newbie event. Their fun is critical if this is to be a successful WoD event.

Yes, I strongly hope that something nifty comes of all this, but we should tell the powerful exiles that one of the main points is to make the new exiles feel important. So we should make sure that every farm has at least a new exile, and that they get at least the illusion of being critically important to the success of the endeavor.

Just trying to keep us from forgetting the main goal while lost in the land of logistics. And I'm looking forward to this event a great deal....

Well put Aerick. I would like to add...for there to be newbies...we must all extend invites to all newbies we come across. This has to be a group effort. Getting the other clans attentions is the easy part. Those newly exiled haven't the ability to gain the information via a clan network and must get it through word of mouth.

Another thing. In light of Cradlesong's lack of caffine and over-enthusiasm we may want to meet at the east tower for our regular 3PM EST meeting to be sure exiles do not arrive early and leave.

Well, I am the "CLAN" Ambassador... :)

But yes, gathering whatever newbies are clanning at the time of the hunt should be easy enough for those in town and in the area.

As for letting newbies know of the event, probably the only sure-fire way is through in-game methods such as Koppi. Perhaps newbies don't know about the newsgroup. So word-of-mouth, etc is a very important way to pass on info about the hunt...

The non-newbie clan-less should be easier since I am sure many know about the newsgroup...

I'm looking forward to it! I hope it goes well!

I'll be more than happy to help in any way I can.

P.S. enchanted mail terrell_e_gray_jr@crosswalkmail.com but I probably won't be chacking it after noon Friday (I do email at lunch at work)

Getting new exiles isn't as entirely hopeless as it may seem. Remember that they hunt with each other, so if you tell a few, they can (if you really bend their arms) tell that party, which can each tell the next parties they're in, in an ever-expanding chain of letting everyone know.

Of course, real people are way too lazy for this to work perfectly, but it should occur to some extent, and will need time to happen, so we need to start advertising and letting people know.

Nunul, I think that South west farm is easier than east farm (the southest with the well): in this east farm there are the hut with the arachnes (can be very nasty for new exiles) and the well (you know, with deadly adders :-). So I think it is better to have more folks in this farm. Just my thought.

Good point so no we can say

Think we need to take the orchard into account also?

Nunul

Hmmm...
I'd lean towards not in the orchard but I could be wrong. I can't recall ever seeing any NPCs in the orchard. I guess it couldn't hurt tho. Who knows, we may have a giant turnout with spare fighters that could camp out there. (or maybe we could leave that area for the mystics)

Any new suggestions on how we'll split up? I think you mentioned something about trying to have at least 1 WoD member per farm snell...

IS this still how we're going to try it?

Nunul - have you heard anything from Nyssa?
What about others? I've heard a number of people discussing it in town so people do know about it!

cya tomorrow!

North farm has 2 buildings - fighter hut and the woman's hut...

Lilly

So how did this go? Did we get a good turnout, or have any effect on anything?

Sargon
01-15-2001, 01:49 AM
Aww.. I wish you could have been there too, Lilly! We had a lot of fun! :) I'm not aware of any effect but maybe something small will change after the next update. It doesn't have to be big. Something like the farmers thank us for helping them or something similar would be nice already.

PS. Farhope fell to excessive drinking!

Oh! Sargon! me? are you sure?

Oh yes, I remember, one keg attacked me while I was patrolling in the northern east farm! I had to defend myself! ... you understand, I am sure!

Konoko

LOL!
Yeah - you gotta watch out for those kegs!
Never turn your back! :)

I think it was a great turnout! Kiriel said she posted (or will post) a visionstone and some pics on the Winds of Dawn page.

I was in the North Farm with Felicity, J'jh, Fist, Tardalus, and Kariatholion. It was pretty quiet. I think we scared everything away! :)
