Hi Winds

I finally got on ICQ. My # is 105402258

Anyone else out there use it?
What are your numbers?

If you don't want to list it here, email it to me at konoko@windsofdawn.org or through icq...

I don't post mine publicly, but anyone in the clan who'd like my ICQ number, just drop me an enchanted mail and I'll send it to you.

Well, I've long since given up trying to protect my privacy, so here's my ICQ #:

48619170

Any CL-er is free to use it, any solicitors are not. And I'm rarely online, but I do check it, much like email. =)

Hi

Warning: Extremely ooc as the whole thread =)

I gave it a try with ICQ today and will prolly contact one of you guys to see whether it works. Yeah it's supposed to work but then I'm running an unknown client for MacOSX here, so.. we'll see.

Oh and a question: Within 30 seconds I got spammed by 3 people already. So if anyone is in need of hot sex sites... just let me know... <g> And I could win a t-shirt and Pentium! =) The silly thing about these messages is that each was from a different ICQ#. Am I supposed to refuse messages all day long from now? Oh.. another spam just arrived.. Angela kisses me. =P

Way to go Sargon! They must really like you! :)

None of us get ICQ spam so you must be really special... :)
But seriously, I got one or two already too.

One thing that might help is Gerry's ICQ (www.gerryicq.com). It has an option to disallow ICQ's sent to mass people or saomething like that. I don't know if your OS X version has this option. I don't even know if the Mirabilis ICQ version does (I heard that Gerry's ICQ is good).

I haven't tried turning it on yet. I saw it buried in the options somewhere....

What ICQ program are you using on OS X?

I'm a Gerry's ICQ user too. I find it's a lot nicer than the official client. I tried running Fire under OS X and it seemed ok except that I had some issues with OS X so I'm probably not going to run it again until the final version comes out. I think I have it set on ICQ to ignore messages from anyone not on my contact list, that seems to work pretty well.

I'm usually on most of the time if anyone in the clan ever wants to chat. I'm usually bored at work :)

Hi

I'm running Fire under MacOS X. I had to install a client under MacOS 9 to register a user though, since Fire can't do that yet. <g> I think there's an option to block messages from unknown buddies, which should do the trick.

As for other clients (I've also heard that Gerry's ICQ is very good) goes, I just don't like the Blue Box and coming from OpenStep I prefer MacOS X. =P

I'll play with the options of Fire a bit. At the moment it pops to the front whenever I get a message, which is quite helpful while running away from a bolok. <g> (But then I can surf the included site in the message while waiting for a healer. ;)

What's nice with Gerry's ICQ is that you can have it speak your messages so you don't have to worry about stuff popping up or whatever while clanning.

It will just read your message to you...

GerryICQ is definately the best ICQ client for Mac. Fire is quite decent for Mac OS X, except it has that annoying problem of popping in front of everything. I love the Cocoa antialiasing though, and interesting having an ICQ client with spell checking ;oD

The next version of Gerry's ICQ has been due a long time and will be carbon, so able to run under OS X. Who knows when he'll finish it though!

Although I love what I've seen with Mac OS X, I've gone back to OS 9 as it's just not ready to be used full time( for me anyway). Can't wait for final though!

Kryll.
