Actually, #1 is now wrong! for a $10 fee, you CAN now change your name. It's a new thing that was announced very recently, and there are limitations. The other advice on picking a name still holds, though.

I also think more about healing/getting healed should be on the list and possibly some advice on choosing a class.

But generally a good list.

Hardly out of touch for not knowing the name change thing. When I say very recently, I mean just that. I think I just heard about it last week.
