WoW mac weirdness...

Hi clanners who play WoW

I have a couple of issues I have with WoW on my mac. Just wondering if anyone else has had similar problems or knows anything about it.

First is that the command-m key dosn't work to set the warcraft window into window mode (or back to full screen).

Second is a problem with my log/text windows. I have one named General that is always there no matter what. I have another one (called "combat log" or something) that was initially attached as another tab to this general window. Well it is everytime I login.

Now I don't want it attached so I drag it off and put it underneath the general window. Now after some time (sometimes short and sometimes long), the combat log window just disappears. It's gone! Not attached to general or anything. If i logout and then back in, the window is back and attached to the general window.

Any ideas? Is it something to do with mult charactersand the settings getting corrupted or something? I reset the WTF and WTB (or whatever they're named) but no differene - same problem.


I've tried doing a couple searches on Mac WoW tech support forum but haven't found anything. I haven't posted anything yet either. :)


I don't know when this started - I hadn't played WoW for a number of months. I'm pretty sure both things were working fine back in the spring.

Nothing yet about the command-m key

There was some text window oddities awhile back but I hoped they got fixed with the raid window popping up problem. Are you still having difficulties with it?

I just tried command-m and it is working fine to minimize and maximize. Is your keyboard functioning properly?

the keyboard seems fine. I've been using it for probably 2 years now or longer and it's been fine.
A friend tries it the command-m thing and it works fine on his mac.

The way I've got it setup now with expose and stuff, I can see the menu when I move the mouse up so I just select command-m manually from the menu. But it would be nice if command-m worked.

I'll try using the keyboard control panel and assign the minimize window to something else to see if that works.


As for the disappearing text windows, it still happens but I setup a macro with the command mentioned in the WoW forum post. It brings it back right away so that's an ok for fix. Although I still wish it never happened :)

well i used the keyboard shortcuts thing in the system prefs. I mapped the full screen mode to control-m. Restarted WoW and now it works fine with ^m. I didn't try mapping it back to command-m. I can work with control-m :)
