The clan reorg plan

I think we may want to consider basing the clan government on something similar to the clan reorg plan that Aerick and I put together. Of course we will probably want to work on it somewhat, and all your input is welcome, and if you want to suggest an alternative format, please do. The URL is:

Also, the plan we originally proposed expects a bigger clan than we will likely have initially, so we may need to compress it down until the clan grows to fit it.

Hi!

I just found out Kiriel and others left when I went searching for your email addresses on the Drakes page. I wanted to email Kiriel and Aerick to tell you that the clan reorg document looks good. One thing to add, perhaps not as an office position, or maybe as an office position would be web mistress for Kiriel.

But now I find out that there has been an exodus from the drakes. I posted a message on the drakes forum about all this.

As I mention, now I'm at a crossroads. A number of friends left and a number of friends stayed with the drakes. Maybe I'll leave too or maybe I'll stay. I want to do some investigating first...


So who is in this new clan so far? Kiriel, Aerick? Who else? Everyone else who left? Farhope? Tater?

We need to keep in mind the ideals of this new charter, and remember not to let the balence of power slip to much, that will be our downfall once again. If people are going to join the clan, i think it should be mandatory that they read the charter just so they understand how the clan operates. Also, the positions weve created for officers are great, although we need people to fill them so i'd like to see some response from anyone whose even remotely interested in filling a position.

One other position would be Web Mistress (not web master :)
I'd like to help Kiriel in this area (assuming she will be doing it - she did a great job with the drakes page.

I guess I won't need to work any further on the changes I was working on for the drakes page. I'll keep my ideas for the new clan's page. :)

The main thing I was working on adding was something to show our own stats like circle level, etc. And Kiriel already did a great job with a cool little form for us to make our own changes...


Also, assuming we eventually get enough members to make dun'ilsar worthwhile, I would like to be the dun'ilsar contact... :)

ok I shouldnt say this, BUT here is one of the reasons i left before the clan even was made. there needs to be one clear leader of the clan, that person dosent need to have any power at all, but there needs to be one clear person every turns to. that was everyone falls under one person and not 5-6, that was the thing wrong with the orignal guides idea it creats to many aliances with-in the clan that fracture it. i warned the orignal members but they didnt take heed, so this was the fate. I wish you guys luck.I do plan on keeping an eye on what you guys do end up doing.. isnt cute though that Lance comes back at this point?(sorry bug hate and resentment towards him )

In my opinion, there needs to be a clear person to turn to for specific things, but there doesn't need to be one person responsible for everything. This is why I like the officers proposal- it makes for clear responsibilites without having too much power concentrated in any specific person.

I'm curious though- if you were unhappy with the system the Silver Drakes created, why did you recently join?

i wasnt upset with the system. i was upset with the poeple. mainly amy and lance, some know abot what went on most dont. all in all those two really screwed up my idea for forming a clan with those people.

i recently joined for the reason taht i had been told things had been getting rocky and i wanted to see what was going on. still the amy power trip thing but i wasnt sure.

as for joining this clan not likely, atleast not in ender. I will try and help SD. if that isnt possible ender will leave SD. oh and Ame was there and with-in listening range when it was first decided to do the Dun'ilsar konoko, she just wasnt paying attention cause she was upset about no one wanting her roleplaying at the meeting.

You forgot one very important position -

Clan Clown.

Would be officially responsible for bursting any pompous bubbles that might develop amongst the office holders. And even if they aren't pompous, whisper "It's just a game." in their ear, just to remind them.

If nominated, I refuse to run. But I may jog...

I dont think the problem with the Silver Drakes was the people in charge themselves, so much as the fact that the office they held was ambiguous in and of itself. Were they there to offer advice? Or to make every decision about clan administration? Or something in between? Its always been hard to say, and still is. I think that if and when they define that in great detail and let everyone know, things will go relatively smoothly for them. And the same would go for this clan. If the leadership, no matter how many members it has, is clear and communicative, then there shouldnt be any problems with it.
