Hi clanmates!
From the meeting we just had, it looks like the majority is interested in joining the dun'ilsar. I would like to hear any concerns people have about joining the dun'ilsar.
To learn more about dun'ilsar, please read the posts here on our forum (under general) and comments from the drakes forum. You can also check out the Dun'ilsar web page:

From the meeting everyone sounded interested in joining. Email me directly if you would like to speak in private about this (konoko@windsofdawn.org)
I plan to email Gray in the next day or two and have him put it to a vote...

Konoko, just to check, are you aware that whether we join Dun'ilsar or not is entirely your decision? We can put it to a vote, we can all vote no, but it comes down to it being your call (if you make a decision we don't like at all, we may replace you, but the decision is still yours). I am emphasizing this because I want everyone to understand that an officer has autonomy over their area.
The vote will not be to determine whether or not we join (although, I suppose you could decree it so), rather it is a means of you getting an idea of our views.
If I were in your place, I would just go ahead and sign us up, but then, there's a reason that I wanted to avoid your position ;) Regardless, do not feel that you have to always wait and act on popular opinion. Just wanted to make sure that this is clear, and I will go quiet again, and let you run your department as you see fit. Be well, be windy

Thanks for pointing this out.
I know this but I'd like to get everyone's point of view on the dun'ilsar thing.
Then after everyone's had their say, then I'll submit our clan as the newest member of the dun'ilsar! :)
What I'd really like besides everyone voting yes :), is to ask any questions they have before we join the dun'ilsar.
I would like to get a chance to answer anyone's concerns about dun'ilsar...

My only concern is finding time to participate. Other than that, I don't see why WoD can't or shouldn't compete in a spirit of fun with the other clans.

There seems to be ample time given to a clan to decide on when to have the event.
The clan challenging another clan gives 2-3 different types of challenges and three possible times (like Saturday 3 PM EST, Sunday 3 PM EST, and say Sunday 1 PM EST).
The clan being challenged must then respond within one ooc week or forfeit. They must say which challenge and time they prefer (say Sunday 3 PM EST). Then they'll sometimes give a date or 2 like Sun Nov 5th at 3 PM EST or Sun Nov 12th at 3 PM EST.
Then the clan offering the challenge will reply as to which day they prefer.
The clan offering the challenge are also responsible for getting the judges to judge the event. For instance, say we have a race with one checkpoint. One judge would be at the start/finish and another judge would be at the checkpoint to verify that each racer went through the checkpoint.
As you point out Corwin, the only real trick is getting a time for everyone to show up. Sundays at 3 PM EST (our meeting time) seems to be real good for all members so maybe if we do have dun'ilsar contests perhaps we can say have a quick meeting at 2:30 PM EST and then have our dun'ilsar. Just a suggestion - we can figure this time thing out when we get into the challenges!
The other real important thing is attendance! Also planning! Say if we do a race challenge, we should know the course perfectly and be aware of any shortcuts or PFs, etc...
Hope that answers your concern...
I think I'll be contacting Gray in the next day or two to have him send out a vote to see what each member thinks about the dun'ilsar idea...

As long as the timing works out I'd love to participate in Dun'ilsar. Note that anything before 3pm EST is pushing it for me (as it is, I have to set an alarm to get up in time for the clan meetings. I am not a morning person :)
