I don't know if this should go under investigations or not. Anyways, I've decided to put it here...
As found on clanlords.com, the Sun Dragon Clan has vowed to find a way to open the mirrors. For the full article, please see clanlords.com. Here's part of what Merlisk of SDC had to say:
"The Sun Dragon Clan has decided to back an all-out effort to search for clues to reopen the Mirror(s).
Since we know this will be a long and arduous task, we've decided to create a scroll for everyone to see that will combine disparate information into, hopefully, a coherent method for reopening the Mirror."

As it mentions on the page, there's an interesting theory that the mirror is tied to the zodiac room. There are spots for 12 stones around the mirror but there are only 11 stones (1 is missing). Perhaps the missing one is a hint to where we can find out more about the mirror?
