Membership questionaire

Greetings all!

After going through TerraHawk's questionaire, (if you havent taken the time to do it, i suggest so..it was rather enlightening), I have come to realize these are largely questions we should be asking people before they join. At the moment I normally just tell people to write a bit about themselves on the message board, but that doesnt help too much for people who dont meet them in person. I think having a potential member fill it out, and then keeping it on hand for anyone who wants to take a look at it (or sending it out in email) will be help towards letting everyone know who is who amongst those interested in the clan. Anyone have any comments or ideas on this?

Sounds like a good idea to me. If you like I can setup a web form for it, so that they can fill it out on our site and all the members can have access to it easily when it's submitted (or just you if you prefer). I was meaning to work on the membership tracking web interface this weekend- I could integrate it into the system.

Would we have folks fill it out when they're initially interested or wait until they've gone through the appropriate clan events and are ready for a vote?

Whilst we wouldn't ask them to fill it out until we are ready for a vote, showing it to them much earlier would be a good idea. (And, if they want to fill it out earlier in the process, fine.)

The questionaire will tell them as much about us (and, IMO some rather positive things) as their answers will tell us about them. Doing so will help recruit those who will be a good fit for our clan, and discourage those who wouldn't before they and we made too much of an investment in the process.
