Sorry for breaking protocol, Nunul. I wanted a new thread started before the other one gets above 20 messages, at which point you have to select 'latest 20 messages' which is grieviously inefficient in my mind.

I was touring the pretty botanical garden of the East Forest (actually I was trying to help save Noids, but couldn't find the stupid place 'cause I was lost in the woods). Anyway, I came upon a pair of trees that resembled the ones with the path to the Sunstone seller, so I investigated to see if they had a similar path.

What I saw were Pathfinding path sparklies. I have no pathfinding. None at all. I could see them, and couldn't enter them. I'm intrigued by this, as it seems to be something other than an ordinary path (or hanging out with all you PF'ers has taught me a thing or two). Does anyone know anything about this? I'm sure that the whole area has been thoroughly explored multiple times, but it still seems really odd.

Interesting!

Maybe something we can investigate after the next meeting?

Is the 20 msg thing an option for this forum?
Can the forum manager change/increase this limit?

I can't find any option to change the 20 message limit. I'll eventually be setting us up to use Vbulletin when I get my new webserver, but that may be a bit yet.

Right, well, it turns out that what I was seeing is just the entrance to Sir West's grave. I looked at some maps and I'm almost sure it was the same tree. So now I'm curious if all non-PFers can see the sparklies or whatnot.

Ok, what's Sir West's grave?

Its a snell that has a little grave site for Sir West, who is an exile who has passed from the realms. He was married to Sadraz, who is still in the lands and runs a charity organization called "the West Foundation", which can be reached at the old Silver Drakes Scrolls. Yours Truly has a story there that earned me some coins in my earlier days =)

Looks like Aerick has his story there too

By the way Aerick, there's a new, easier way to Noids. From E field, go ESE and you'll be there (I think, not sure)

Who or what is a thoom named "Ma Tota"?

Anyone seen her wandering around?

Where'd you hear about her!?

The official statement was that she is/was a bug in a quest and we should pay her no mind

Konoko

They're talking about her on the clan lord quest tracker eGroup.

She's been seen wandering between east field and TW. Supposedly she's also been spotted in SW beach.

I first guessed that she was something to help with growing/planting stuff (letters from "Ma Tota " rearranged gets "Tomata" which is almost like tomato).

However, now from what I've gathered so far she will help you get an animal totem where one can learn to act with more agility, or study enemies in detail, learn beauty is only skin deep (or something like that), plus like 6 or so other things...

At least that's what is being discussed on the eGroup.

Where did you hear the "official statement" you mentioned?

I talked to one of the first people to see her. HGM yanked them away and told them it was a bug.

When was it Althus?
Maybe it's been fixed in a recent chaos storm...

Cause Ma Tota is still around so if it's a bug they would have just gotten rid of her during the Chaos Storm yesterday.

So I'm thinking if you see Ma Tota, talk to her and try to get your own animal totem! (whatever that will do for you... :)

I have have nothing really to say about this Ma Tota lady, but I have been looking for her and will try to report whatever Ican find that has not already been said.

Id like to request an investigation fo the big giant head. its in a tent in the northeast field. it whispers things if you pump its bellows and then get real close to its mouth. its kinda scaaary. I have spoent over 2 hours listening to it, and so far all i can say is that what it says is not ROT-13. it comes out in 2 word gibberish each time. there are over 20 messages for it. it also appears that the more mentus ranks that touch the stone, the more message variety you recieve. tis all i know thus far

Here's another one:

There's an NPC named Nacerus in a new area under the well in the savannah maha den. Sten showed us. We had to fight quite a bit of undine and then Nacerus said the following:

12/28/00 1:10:20p Nacerus says, "Well met, Mistress Konoko."
12/28/00 1:10:24p Nacerus says, "I grant you the freedom of our outmost cavern."
12/28/00 1:10:30p Nacerus says, "Those who would remain safe must pass no further."
12/28/00 1:10:36p Nacerus says, "Likewise shall these who would remain safe learn nothing of true power."
12/28/00 1:10:44p Nacerus says, "If you fear to walk the paths between life and unlife, leave this place."

Then there is a door that doesn't want to open. Perhaps somehow Nacerus will only let certain exiles past...

Any ideas Winds?

It sounds like it could be linked to Purgatory.

Undine are related to Tenebrion.
Tenebrion is related to shards.
Maybe shards are related to the door...and the paths between life and death.

OOC...
I've heard HelpfulGM mention several times that although some quests may not be "complete" per say, but if certain "events" are completed, the next step in the quest will be made available before the questors "run into a wall". This door may have been recently made available to us because of another event that has taken place.

I can think of a couple...

Another "mystery" that has held my attention lately...

As far as I can tell, only the buildings with closed doors on the western side of town give a message of "the door is locked" when approached. Are there others besides this area?

In response to quests the door might have been unlocked by:

those doors were put there when DT started poutting doors on the images. as in the town for the most part had no doors so everything looked open.
