Say, old buddies. Pals. [conniving voice]

I'm trying to find an apartment in Boston for some friends of mine. Wondering if anyone in the clan, or who swings by the Forum, would have any suggestions.

It's for three people, one of whom has a Shitzu (little, bitty dog of about 10-15lbs).

Anyone have any idea what resources there are to look into that would get around broker fees? I've seen some Internet sites that offer to get you around those fees by offering OTHER fees, but I'm not so keen on that.

If anyone has any pointers, ideas, inside information, or snide comments, feel free to post here, or to email me privately at:

eklose -at- bates -dot- edu (my attempt to not get more spam) =)

I really don't know what I'm looking for, or what's reasonable, or what locations are good, so any help would be great.

Thanks all,

-Eric

Hey, while I'm at it, if anyone knows of any JOBS for these people....

Kidding. I mean, they need jobs, but I'm not actually asking. Especially since the pinnacle of their computing skills consist of not being quite sure which side a CD-R to put down, and most everyone here seems to be in the computer industry. Anyway, I was momentarily entranced with the sweet, sweet satisfaction it would bring to be able to hook up all my ooc friends through the game which they mock constantly. =)

Err...I hate to tell you but there are probably only two worse places in the country to try and find an affordable than Boston (San Fran and NY).

Your best bet is to get on to the BU or BC campus net and check listings there (you whould be able to weasle access to their private campus boards/network through someone in your school's IT department, or through creative sucking up on the phone to those schools).

You might also try getting a copy of local newpapers from outlying communities rather than Boston itself, as the rents will be cheaper and space probably more available.

In any case I wish you luck, it will not be easy...

Seriously tho, I'm sorry to hear that 2 of my most favorite areas are that far out of reach for the average exile, er, citizen. Damn Chum!
