If we could find a good time an place for an OOC meeting of WOD and friends, would you be interested and able to come??

I'd love to attend such an event!

I don't know if I'd really be able to though. I'd have to see when and where it is. And then hopefully get time off work, etc...

Here's an idea: Canada!
- we have great beer
- and with the US exchange dollar thing the way it is, it's almost like paying you when you american types spend the big ole US dollar here in Canuck land. Ok, well maybe that's a wee bit of an exaggeration... :)

But seriously I would think the best place would be where most of the people are situated. Or not...
Whatever - just give me the details as to when and where and I'll see what I can do!

As much as I'd like to go- I think the only WoDer near me is Althus, so I think I'll wish you guys well but I won't be able to participate. That being said, if any WoDers make it out to the SF Bay Area let me know and I'll try to arrange a Clan Lord event at the time. Solas is coming out in a few weeks and I'll be having an event then.

It might be wise to make the event more in the winter. We'll all be less stressed out right around Christmas. OH, Wait! Not what I meant!

February-ish. Airline fares are dirt cheap.

Kiri...you do know you have a Tan-ite in your backyard don't you? Rugur also lives in the Bay Area (and gloats to me every time he takes his sailboat out *grumble grumble*

Hi!

Bah, you should live in Europe, THEN you'd have a good excuse not to participate in an OOC meeting! Canada, US, it's all the same!

/action hides behind the next tree!
/action wonders whether the US-guys or the Canadian-guys are more angry now!

I guess that excuse is pretty good Sargon... :)

Don't get me started on the whole Canada-US thing... :)

I'd never dare to!

/action adjusts his halo

But let me add this: (you might know it already, but hey, I like it! :)

Radio conversation released by chief of naval operations 10/10/95.
Canadians: Please divert your course 15 degrees to the south to avoid a collision.
Americans: Recommend you divert your course 15 degrees to the north.
Canadians: Negative. you will have to divert your course 15 degrees to the south to avoid a collision.
Americans: This is the captain of a US navy ship. I say again, divert your course.
Canadians: No. I say again, divert your course.
Americans: This is the aircraft carrier USS Lincoln. the second biggest ship in the United States Atlantic fleet. We are accompanied by three destroyers, three cruisers and numerous support vessels. I demand that you change your course 15 degrees north, that's one five degrees north, or counter measures will be undertaken to ensure the safety of this ship.
Canadians: We are a lighthouse. your call.

Well, I hope that there is no I'll feelings between us American WODers, English WODers, and Canadian WODers. I know that there is none here. I have been to Canada many times and its a wonderful place. And I lived in England for 2 years so I am quite fond of that country as well.

I hope that I am not causing bad feelings by suggesting that we have an OOC meeting here in the states. Its not becuase I dont want to go to Canada but I think there are more members down here.

If I am causing hard feelings or jealousy by bringing this up, then perhaps we should just forget it.

I wasn't too serious about everyone going to Canada. I think I'm the only WoDer in Canada anyways.

I think it should be in a location that's central to everyone, or a place where the most WoDers are or some cool, fun place! By the way, I'm not saying Canada isn't cool or fun... :)

Just let me know when and where and I'll see if I can make it.

On the sixth day God turned to Archangel Gabriel and said "Today I am going to create a land called Canada, it will be a land of outstanding natural beauty. It shall have tall majestic mountains full of mountain goats and eagles, beautiful sparkling lakes bountiful with bass and trout, forests full of elk and moose, high cliffs over-looking sandy beaches with an abundance of sea life and rivers stocked with salmon.

God continued, "I shall make the land rich in oil so as to make the inhabitants prosper, I shall call these inhabitants Canadians, and they shall be known as the most friendly people on the earth. "But Lord," asked Gabriel, "don't you think you are being too generous to these Canadians? "Not really," replied God, "just wait and see the neighbours I'm going to give them."

And yes, I'm an american.

Well, I hope that we can arrive at a place and time so that as many as possible can attend. First I suggest that we determine where everyone lives. I will post a poll elsewhere in OOC discussion to find out what area of the world eveyone lives in.

I don't think it will be possible for me to attend a meeting but if one day I will do it, one funny thing:
I don't understand english! really! I understand (quite well) written english, but I don't understand english :-) ... and the few times I have tried to speak in english, people couldn't understand me

Hi!

Farhope, then we make our own meeting! Haha! While my French is _really terrible_ I might understand one or two sentences! :) And there's Fiscelan from the TANs who's also near us! =)

/ponder at least we beat Canada by one vote =)

Actually, i'd vote for Canada too <grins> so it would be a tie!

Konoko

Well Farhope, Canada is bilingual so we could just head over to Montreal or something...

I don't really have great French except for the few high school classes. And I wasn't too good... :)

Bonjour!
Comment allez-vous?
Je m'appelle Konoko
I think I'll just stick to en anglais... :)

Well, I have a suggestion. How about Kansas City Misouri for a meeting place?

We could try for Labor day?

Delirium

I probably cannot go, but, just a thought.....

Does not one of our members live in another city in Missouri? Would it not be better to have a meeting in a place where a member lives and can scout hotels, etc.?

Goric

Well, perhaps labor day is a bit soon to organize such by im not sure when the next good holiday is that we can get together. The next holiday after the family ones (thanksgiving, Chritmas) is prolly presidents.

Well, Lanna lives in Iowa so she would help us find accomidations. Im trying to talk her into joining WOD.

How is Iowa for everyone????

Lilly

I might actually be capable of going to Iowa. There isnt any way i could make it for Labor day though...my brother's getting married that weekend.

Konoko

Well Presidents (whenever that is), is an american holiday so that not be too helpful to all one of us in Canada (2 if Perrin joins)... :)
And Thanksgiving is in October! American Thanksgiving is sometime in November I believe...

But I have no idea if I would be able to go anyways (depends on when and where). Vacation normally wouldn't be a problem but I am moving to a new project in Sept now that the other one is finished. Hopefully this new project isn't as time-consuming as the last one! I do NOT want to spend another 10 months in the library! :)

But as I said before, let me know when and where. I guess I'm not really offering anything useful here except pointing out that the US thanksgiving is in the wrong month! :)
November is the month for Remembrance Day - not Thanksgiving! :)

Hi!

Haha, presidents day! He definitely needs some days off! *wonders on how many feet he trampled now!* I suggest Halloween! Then you can all wear clothes so you look like in CL! =) Wouldn't that be fun? :)

From now, until at least November, doing any traveling is probably out of the question for me. We will be spending a lot of our free time pinning down all this house buying stuff, and then move sometime between September and October.

Hmm...wait! I've got an idea! You all come to St. Louis and help me move! Free beer! Good exercise! What more could a person want!!? ;-D

Mehan

NUVALI!!!!! Are you offering beer to an underaged person??

Man, you and I are gonna get along real good. [:D]

*Joking! Joking!!!!!*

Goric

Well, then perhaps we should shoot for next year sometime. Perhaps around presidents day or in that area. The reason I suggested a holiday is that we would have more time for travel to get here and back, and then some time as a gang...

We could call ourselves the WOD gang...

We could get some cool t-shirts made up with wind blowing the letters around and stuff.

Beer, yuk...

Actually I like sex on the beach

Mixed drinks for all!!
