New Quest in the 'Noid Cave?

Sorry for a request from a non-clan member, but I thought this might interest you. A few of us wandered down into the arachnoid caverns tonight, and Arachnoid had some interesting stuff to say (Mongo had never heard this before, so it apparently is new):

Arachnoid says, "We were once a united race, but the Change swept through us."
Arachnoid says, "Kthk-t'kel is found deep down where the rock grows warm."
Arachnoid says, "You should go back, the Kthk-t'kel is unhealthy to your kind."
Arachnoid says, "Thk'ekl make fine weapons, if you've got the training."
Arachnoid says, "The other tribes fight for the cave south of here."

I don't know about the first few phrases, but the last two are evidently new...and seem to point to a new quest. Mongo couldn't pursue any further as it was 3 newbies with him (me and two others), and the other exprienced folks were hunting some serious 'noids, but this might be something to look at (I would love to...but I am neither powerful enough nor knowledgeable enough).

This friendly, talkative 'Noid has been around, as far as I've heard, since pre-Rip. All of the experienced exiles just ignore it as an unfinished quest.
However, I think it would be good for us to start looking into the old unfinished threads, and make sure that they haven't been finished, and that no one has bothered looking.
Also, I seem to recall something about that guy talking about opening a shop, but I'm not sure of that.

I've never heard the noids say anything about the weapons before though. I might just have ignored it. Is it possible this is a new comment?

I wish I could add something, but alas, I've only been there once. And it was a rescue mission. I'm game to go back. I'm not sure it can be a reasonable clan hunt as yet. Maybe we should do some investigating first?

It would not be a problem for a clan hunt to go there. It is not deep 'noids, where the 'noids are, the only resistance will be small arachne and arachne.
And now that you mention it, Kiriel, I'm not 100% sure about having heard the weapons comment, either.

small note. Said NPC has been around aslong as noids has. SO in the v30s area. the only changes tot hat NPC over time has been that he now roams that area instead of staying still

"Deep down where the rock grows warm" - so this would perhaps be in the passes area? At or near Ha'and (or whatever it's called)?

Don't some say there is some kind of PF thing here that leads to the other side of the passes?

I have been warned that the PF paths by Ha'and lead to twisty mazes...but that is where my knowledge ends. I have checked for paths within the Ha'and snell and came up empty. One PF path is accross the pass from Ha'and entrance. I heeded the warning at the time and did not enter it. BTW this area was dropping rocks.

The unofficial Librarian speaks:

Kiri - The Noid has been saying that, and exactly that, as Aerick noted, since pre-war.

Nunul - Don't forget the rocks :) There are mazes filled with (according to reports) lizards, Blind Amphibia, and things that throw rocks. I forget whether they have been fully explored or not, but I think they end in a blocked passage.

Kono - I find underground more likely. Remember, as we get closer to the core of the earth (and even to the mantle) things get hotter. Or perhaps "warm rocks" is a reference to some type of algae. And hey, isn't there an "underground tunnel" builder in town now?

Hey just a note on this I have tried to talk with this npc character since v32 he has said the same thing ever since then I have talked with super chicken who was a great noid hunter and he said he has explored it but nothing came up. So this npc just gets ingnored now as a blabering fool! And I have been to the noids more times than I can count. :D
