I used the preferences to upload a custom avatar, but it didn't show up next post...

Did I use the wrong format? I think it was a pict file (from a screen capture).

Thanks,

Lex

When you upload a new avatar, it should appear on ALL of your posts, so you really don't have to post to check. I'm not sure what formats are acceptable, but I think it might be best to stick to gif/jpg, the two most widely supported web standards.

Your avatar is showing up for me Lex. But it should only work with gifs and jpgs (maybe png too, not sure).
Might want to make it transparent tho :)

Lex's avatar has always shown up as being broken for me. Not sure why.

My avatar doesn't show up for me. I'll try to upload a better one.

Kiriel, how do you make it "transparent"?

Thanks,

Lex

I recomment opening the file in a graphics program like Graphic Converter, setting the white background color to be transparent (how you do this is different in every program), and save it out as a GIF and upload it.

It loads fine currently in iCab so perhaps iCab supports more formats than the other browsers (btw iCab rocks!). But if it doesn't load in other peoples browsers the current format probably is not good for a web page.
