How about you just disable post counts for posts whose author lacks an 'e' in their name. It's the most common letter in the English language, so I can't see it causing any problems...

When trying to post the above 4 smileys, I get the following error message:

You have included too many images in your signature or in your previous post. Please go back and correct the problem and then continue again.

Images include use of smilies, the vB code [img] tag and HTML <img> tags. The use of these is all subject to them being enabled by the administrator.

Ok, I think I figured out the problem. There's a different setting for me because I'm the administrator. I found a setting limiting images in a post and I changed it to 8.

To keep people from spamming to increase their post count, I suggest we use character count instead. For example, since I tend to write a few really long posts, in stead of lots of little ones, I'd be in the race, instead of lagging behind by 300 ;)

I think Aerick has a good idea, but I really think it should be limited to those of us with an L in our name instead of E ;)

Actually, I'd be all for a character count. It might encourage rambling a little bit, but would give a more accurate portrayal of Forum activity. Of course, I also think the whole notion of this as a 'competition' is a kind of sketchy idea anyway, but that's probably just me.

Nice weather outside, huh? (collecting some extra chars! :) Err.. Aerick, you didn't mean that seriously? :) If yes, I suggest some other metrics:

-number of smileys in a post (Ok Kiri, I wanna become an admin!)
-number of times you tease clanmates (teasing Konoko counts twice)
-The general silliness of the post on a scale 0-10 (this post will get 10 for example)
-for thread starters: less points if the main goal of the thread is to increase a metric, on a scale from 0-10 [This thread would give 0 points (and now +2 for teasing (see above) and 10 points for my flower thread)
-for fighters: a +1 if they have trained with Master Spirtus
-for healers: always +1 because.. they're healers!
-for mystics: I'm not allowed to say!
-a +1 if you're wearing pink shoes while posting (ic or ooc)
