My apologies for missing the scheduled hunt to Tenebrion's island, Sunday. A couple things happened that prohibited me from coming out of the library.
Anyway... here's a report on how the other hunts went. If the Tenebrion hunt occurred, could someone please supply the appropriate info:
Friday (LP/Chamelopods)
Clan Participants: Althus, Farhope, Nuvali, Mehan
Other Participants: Bulgorius, Slyph
Success: Medium-High
Notes:The hunt went well. We got off to a rocky start in Pods, but eventually regained control of the area.
Saturday (Savannah)
Clan Participants: Farhope, Nuvali
Other Participants: Mekhno (Later, we joined Pete and Bvael in the dunes)
Success: Very High
Notes: Despite low turnout, no one fell during the entire venture, and we hunted with great efficiency.
Saturday (Noids)
Clan Participants: Nuvali
Other Participants: Many (at least 20 people)
Success: Medium
Notes: Started as a massive rescue effort (at least 10 people were fallen inside). It went about as smoothly as a Noids rescue can go. ;-)
After Noids, Konoko revealed to Nuvali the secret behind her skinning success: very fast swordsmanship! ;-)
Saturday (DI/FI)
Clan Participants: Delirium, GrayGradi, Nuvali
Other Participants: None
Success: High
Notes: More of an exploratory search through McBolie's cavern. Other than a few scrapes and bruises from the cave, we came out unscathed. Delirium found a couple suspected PF paths but was unable to open them.

I'm sorry I wasn't able to make any of the hunts! This weekend was especially busy for me (usually I have very little to do on the weekends). I am looking forward to the next time!

I was in the Foothills at the time, so I couldn't help out, but if yi folks ever make any ventures into the McBolie Cavern, and I'm in the lands, I'd be happy to come along.
Also, over the past couple of weeks, I have created a pretty comprehensive map of the McBolie Cavern and it's paths. I wouldn't want to spoil anyone's thrill of discovery or exploration with my map, but if any of yi are interested in it, I could make yi a copy. There are some parts of the Cavern that I can't seem to get to, even though I can see them, and I'm currently trying to find a way to reach them.
Anyway, if yi folks ever need a full Pathfinder/Mystic on any of yi expeditions to Devil's Isle, please count me in.

Fantastic Lundar! Thank you!
And I would love to peek at your map. I enjoy the sense of discovery as much as the next person, but you have to understand that finding matching shoes in the morning is a "discovery" for me. In other words, I normally have to depend on the efforts of more capable eyes, like you and Delirium (and so many others) to show me the way. ;-)

The best part of the McBolie Trip for me was not all the new (to me) paths I did not open, but the one new one I did open. I also noticed that there were a lot of creatures in the NW corner of the cavern, but apparently no way to get there.
I would like to see that McBollie map, Lundar.
I am also making a map of the T'rool mines. It's going slow because when I have CL time I'm usually hunting. It's not easy because I can't solo the place and it's tough to get people to not only go with me, but be patient enough for me to take snapshots (I'm trying to get something together that's a little more accurate than just lines and arrows).
Anyway, after I'm done at least the parts I can get to, I'd like to take a couple of full PFs and a mystic through.
Not that I expect anything, but you never know.

Lex, perhaps we could collaborate a bit.
Konoko and Nuvali are mapping those same mines with the same intentions. The process of scanning them with a Pathfinder and a Mystic is one that can be done repeatedly, to test for time differences and flukes with how pathfinding works.
So it'd be great to have several different parties checking for any hidden passages, and compare notes.
Just curious...
Have there been any instances of a PF path opening at one time of day and not another? This was the speculation with the interior of McB at one time, but no one could ever establish a pettern, and it was likely due to the randomness of PF ability before the update that supposedly "fixed" it.
I know there's supposed to be a place in the foothills that works this way, but it's the only case I ever heard of.

My own personal experience suggests that the time of day thing in McBolie was pure speculation. After I opend McBolie the first time, I never had any trouble opening it, any time of day, until the update fix. Since I opened it after the fix, I have not found any path that, once I opened it, I could not open it again. I will say again, it is my belief that if you can see a path, you have a chance to open it, and once you open a path, you remember how to open it. I have yet to encounter any paths that had evidence of time-of-day effects.

The east mines map is all done except for one little spot that's in the middle of a big room in the NE (i think) where I didn't take a screenshot.
I did the same thing you're talking about (taking screenshots). Aerick helped with some of the screenshots and I got the rest. Then I merged em all together.
At 100% it's huge! I scaled it down to 20% and saved it as a gif.

Same experience for me as Delirium.
I don't have anymore problem with McBolie caves (in/out and in the crater - or fences, I don't know the word, well the inside area). It was not possible for me to open and, after many tries (and going in with Delirium for example) I can always open these paths now.
I just try it now, one time more... success! :-)
Yes, PF was a little screwy after the change but seems to have settled down.
The snagglewood has become one of my new favorite hunting grounds, and I am there every few days or so. If there are any full PFs that want to try their luck at Wisher's gate, let me know and I'll try to organize a trip there. It's not so bad, we can usually get there and back in a half hour even while hunting our way there. And it wouldn't be too hard to get someone who already can open to come along too. Just don't fall in HH [:)]

While in McBolie's I had a thought about there and the other "dark" caves on DI.
About the same time as DI opened up, the lands had a new trainer arive -- the one who teaches you how to start fires.
We also have a source of tar (KI, I believe).
Do we now have the ability to make a light source for inside dark areas? It just seems to me there might be a whole lot more to learn about those places if we had the benifit of our eyesight...

I think GrayGradi just nailed it.

I'm not sure if we can make flames big enough to light a cavern(though it certainly seems very possible), but there are several small mini-caves within the Dark Caves, in which the light is good enough to see. I'm not sure if there's anything special about these yet, but I know one of them can be reached from inside the Crater by walking across lava...
OOC: The darkness of these caverns is created by basically just putting a big, black square over the entire cave, so that everything else is hidden under it, so I'm not sure it would be possible to illuminate the caves, as they're currently implemented. I did once receive an edited image file from Mac-arena though, that replaced the black square graphic with a single flower graphic. This basically just made the whole dark cavern go gray, but I could see all the characters and monsters and stuff. Might want to talk to him if you're interested.

P.S. The Flower Tower was changed this Storm. Might want to go check it out.

I would love to see more hunts. I am glad that the ones that were planned were successful. I hope to be able to attend more of them.
FI is one destination though that I will not be joining in on. It seems that we know far too little about the strange things that take place on this island. I get a weird feeling in the pit of my stomach when I am there. I do not fear evil, but I wish to know more about my enemy before I face him, or her.
I applaud those that wish to continue to search it and look for answers but I wil not be one of them.
