What's the deal with ma Tota?
The other day she told someone that there was soemone who could teach her to make a call that could be ehard across the whole land.
Today she told me :
3/12/01 3:16:54p Ma Tota says, "There is one who can teach you to study your foes from all sides before making your move."
Then she said to come back tomorrow.
So, what's the deal with Ma Tota?

Ma Tota gives you the opportunity to find a spirit animal. basically, you talk to her, and what she tells you is a clue about what creature you can find (in yoru case, a feral) then you try to find a feral that belongs to you (it will be docile, it will glow something like it was being healed, and actually be called "TerraHawk's Feral"). then you have to bring it to ma tota. if you dont find it in the first day shell give you another clue. The problem with doing this is that the creature is not invincible - anyone walking around can kill it, and probably wont even realize they did so until its too late. and if you do manage to find it, you still have to keep it alive (for ooc days sometimes, which is all but impossible) before you find ma tota again. I have no idea what the reward for doing this is.
Do you recall who it was that got told about the call? I have always had a suspicion that Ma Tota may be the person who could lead people to the sign required to enter Gaia's temple. That sounds like it may be it.

Ah, I see....
Thanks for the info.
The perosn who got the call stuff was Wystii.
She's training to be a Mystic.
I think we should look into seeng if she'll want to join WoD.

Hi
When I first found out that my spirit animal is a slug I was a bit disappointed. (don't laugh :) How I wished it would be a snow feral!! (And I hope so much I will see one in the wilderness some day..) So I was not really interested in this thing at all anymore.
But since I've heard about Athala's recent success, (she managed to return Torla and Torina (soo cute! :) to Lady Ma'Tota, I'm starting to be interested much more again!
What about other clan members? Did you already find your spirit animal or are you trying to find it? I think that Farhope managed to return her spirit animal (also a slug <g>) to Lady Ma'Tota once, but I'm not sure.

Right Sargon. I would like to try a second time... but I don't see Ma'Tota regularly often for the moment.

Actually, Torla and Torina were Athala's third and fourth animals to be returned to Ma. She has found her fifth, but it is in an area that is impossible to get it out of, so she is not sure what to do...

Ok, so once each animal is brought back to Ma Tota, is there some kind of reward? Do you get some experience or something?
You mention that Athala is on her 5th totem. Is it always the same animal? Like always tors or slugs or whatever?
What is the benefit of doing this?
Is it a gradual thing? The more totems she finds the better or more quickly some benefit builds up?
In other words, what's the point of the totem stuff?
lots of questions! "Curiousity killed the cat but satisfaction brought it back!" :)

My first one is feral.
No luck getting it backl to Ma Tota the first time.
I'm trying for the second time, so we'llsee how it goes (I ahve to see Ma Tota one or two more times).
I'm taking this one gradually....

Konoko you are asking the same questions that I am. I think it is primarily an experience gain, but who can say? I had hoped that it would be an introduction to the Gaia quest, but that does not seem to be case. As for it getting easier each time, well....Athala has become something of an expert on finding her spirit animal and returning it to Ma, and the Tans all do our best to find Ma for her as quickly as possible, and escort her and her animal to Ma.
She has always had the same animal...for her a Tor.
For myself, ma still doesn't seem to be ready to tell me what my animal is, of course I have only managed to run into her two or three times.
