Greetings! Many of you know me, and as some of you heard today at the clan meeting, I have decided it's time for me to join a clan. After giving in to the peer pressure of Nuvali, Nunul, Tater, Gray and others (hehe) , I would be honored if you would accept me into your clan. You are a great group, and I would be proud to be a part of this organization.

I don't know about the others, but I twisted his arm 'till he cried uncle! And then I made puppy dog eyes. Or maybe it was the other way around. Either way, that's a lot of pressure!

How am I supposed to resist puppy dog eyes? LOL Actually, I have done a lot of looking at clan scrolls, watching members of clans, etc. and I found this one to be the one that seems best suited to me. I like most of the people in the clan already, and those that I don't know well, seem to be good people also. I look forward to getting to know the ones that I don't already. Peer pressure played little part in it, when all is said and done.

Greetings Maxmillian and Weltall!

I have met Weltall, and put together a little clan hunt for him with Aerick and Tater in Noids. As membeship coordinator, I need to make sure you know the requirements for joining the clan. Now, we have a web page (Linked on our home page) explaining the requirements. Unfortunately, this page has not been updated since I took over, so, here are the requirements:

1) Attend four clan events and enjoy them. A clan event is any scheduled clan hunt or meeting or any hunt/rescue with at least 3 clan members. Posting on the newsgroup counts as one event. Enjoyment is essential. If you do not enjoy yourself, then you just won't be allowed to join. Also, no sleeping in Clan meetings. I'll have to wake you up in my usual way if you fall asleep.

2) Get to know as much about the clan as you can. It is important for you to be comfortable with the clan's goals. There may be a written test. Also, get to know as many members as you can. We don't bite.... well.... mostly we don't bite. You better watch Konoko, especially if you are Sylvan. She's usually OK... I mean, she doesn't cough up hairballs in public like some Fen... but she has been know to get this gleam in her eye around Sylvans. Let us know if she gives you any trouble, though.

3) Ask for a vote. After you have been to the proper number of clan events, you may ask for a vote. Now normally, you need to submit form MR-10.5.3 in quintuplicate directly to me without passing go or collecting 200 coins. However, I'll be spending a lot of time in the library over the next few zodiacs, and I don't have a deputy, so I guess you can just ask any old member. Of course, the sanity of some of our members is in question, so they may not remember to tell me about it. But, I'll try to remember to deliver the message if you tell me. The vote will last no longet than 1 week.

4) Help us track down the renegade. Now, we recently had a member leave the clan because he had some very silly thoughts. You need to track him down and make him see the error of his ways and re-join the clan. Besides, he neither asked my permission before leaving the clan nor filled out the appropriate forms. No one leaves the clan on MY watch. /action pulls out her axe.

5) We will induct you in our secret initiation rite.

See, it's really such a simple and easy process. I just don't understand why we don't get more new members.

haha! It's nice to see you're warning the sylvans about me now! Sylvans do look tasty but I've done a great job restraining myself, eh? :)

Just to clarify, posting on the clan messageboard (not the newsgroup) counts as one event.

Also, you can reach our current membership coordinator (currently our one and only Delirium!) at mailto:membership@windsofdawn.org. That should be easy to remember, right?

Just a tip for membership applicants, it's a good idea to poke your nose around the messageboard and give us your two cents whenever you feel like it. We love visitors, and it's a great way to get to know the members better, especially those who may not be around much during your preferred clanning times.

Also, I noticed that there were some clickable links that seem to still point to Lilly as membership co-ordinator. As this may be the last time I'll be able to look here for the next week or so, and both Maxmillian and Weltall may be ready to ask for a vote in that time, perhaps someone else could oversee the process while I am in the Library? I do not want anything to be held up as a result of my spirit being busy in another realm!

Good to see you considering our clan, Weltall and Maximillian!

I remember making/leading one of my first "new exiles hunt" (as a no-more-but-still-almost-new-exile) with you Weltall (ok, YOU was leading it, in fact :-).
And you Max, I remember some OCC discussion about children :-) when making a "lazy hunt" on the mirror area in south forest (I think that the place is more scary at night now, maybe just a wrong impression)

Very good memory, Farhope. :-) We did have a talk or two while lazy hunting at the mirror. And thanks for the warm reception... all of you. That is one of the reasons I chose your clan. Everyone I know so far are just fun to be around. Delirium, I can wait as long as needed to call the vote. I've waited this long to join a clan, I can wait a while longer. Life in Puddleby won't stop if I have to. ;-) Please don't feel like you have to give the responsibilty to someone else on my account. Many who know me well, know patience is something I have in abundance. Besides, I have a couple more events I need to attend, I think, before I qualify. Plus, I'm not sure if I am ready to hunt down and browbeat the "renegade" just yet. LOL
