I wasn't sure where to post this, I figure this is the best spot. We talked before about having some sort of designation, like Windy Friends or Friends of Dawn, but I said I would post some proposal on the board and then of course promptly forgot to do it :)
Anyhow, in light of two of our treasured members leaving the clan, I think now's the time to make this an official designation. We need to pick a title of course- please post if you have any other suggestions for the name (and we can have a nice vote afterwards) and we need to decide what the designation means and how we determine who should receive it.
I believe the designation should mean the person is someone who exhibits the same traits we'd look for in a member- someone who likes to help new exiles and makes the time to do so when the opportunity presents itself if possible. Someone the other members feel is a good person and someone they like to be around. Basically, a "Friend of Dawn" or whatever we call them, would be someone most likely voted in as a member if they chose to apply to the clan, but for whatever reason does not wish to be a clan member.
I think that to become a "Friend of Dawn" a member should post in the private section of the board a nomination. Then someone would need to second the nomination and we would have a vote. If the person got yes votes from at least half the clan members and got no more than one no vote, then they would be given the title.
The main distinctions to being a "Friend of Dawn" would be the ability to place that designation in their tattoo if they so choose, a spot on our "Friends of Dawn" page, and a special password for entering any new exile events they might like to schedule on our events page, and for adding new exiles to our new exile section (and anything else which might seem appropriate to give access to).
What are your feelings on this guys? Any suggestions for changes to this proposal or additions?
