In going through old mail, I came across a United Mileage Plus flyer to promote getting miles by opening an Ameritrade account. The slogan printed by the address label is:

"Fly into Wall Street with United & Ameritrade"

There are a lot of jokes going round. Some I find quite funny (the architects who design the new WTC buildings so that they have huge gaping holes in them for planes to fly through to prevent future disasters). That whole incident is going to have a long-time impact. It even seems to be changing what things like TV shows, movies, etc are going to show.

/action start rant

I don't think they should really go and censor new or existing movies to cut out scenes, etc. Didn't the release of the new Arnold Schwarzenegger movie get postponed/cancelled because it involved certain storylines. Sam with certain episodes of Agency, 24, and whatever else...

If something was found to ok to show on TV or in the theatres like 6 weeks ago then it should be ok now too.

I think there's a problem with becoming too sensitive, etc. Is that not like almost ignoring that something like this can happen if they refuse to show it in movies/tv? It's almost like hiding.

It would be good to have warnings so that someone can decide not to watch something. But I don't think one should censor out everything that say 6 weeks ago was ok.

I dont get it!!

On the subject of rants...

I recently say the movie; "along came a spider."

The movie was ok. But at teh begenning was a car wreck scene. It was very obvioulsy CGI (computer generated graphics) and not very well done at that. What ever happened to using actual scenes involving actual cars with actual stunt drivers in em in actual wrecks??

A very enthuastic Thumbs down!!

Konoko - I too am disgusted by the rush to cut scenes in movies and TV that show the WTC. If an actor dies after a movie has been shot, do they go back and cut all the scenes with that actor? It seems to me it is like censoring all mention of a person after they die. The WTC was one of the greatest feats of modern architechture, and does not deserve to be swept under the carpet. We still talk about the Colosus of Rhodes and other creative feats that are long gone.
