It occurred to me that Nunul's brilliant idea for when to meet is probably being bogged down because no one has any objection to it, especially in its conceptual form. So, to see if there would be a problem with it, I am assigning dates and times.

Tues, Oct 17 - 9pm EST (6pm PST)
Sun, Oct 22 - 3pm EST (noon PST)
Tues, Oct 31 - 9pm EST
Sun, Oct 5 - 3pm EST

Et cetera. My only concern is that, to get the whole clan represented, one of each meeting would have to transpire, and that that means a two week delay in decisions, which is a source of inefficiency. Of course, with individuals having power over their areas, this is an irrelevant point, so just ignore me.

Does anyone have issues/conflicts with this system?

I'm guessing the above is supposed to be Nov 5th and not Oct 5th... :)

The delay between certain meetings like Oct 22 and Oct 31 is 9 days. That's more than a week between meetings. Do we want this? For instance, based on this, there is no meeting this Sunday since we'll wait for Tuesday.

I misunderstood the original post about when the meetings would be. How confusing could/will this be for newbies trying to pop by a winds meeting?
I can see someone asking: "When's the next meeting?"
The answer: "Sunday, no wait Tuesday, no next Tuesday, we already met on a Sunday..."

I know some clans meet twice a week (ie say Sundays and Tuesdays) but that's a large clan (Dwarven Militia). The drakes meet once a week (Sundays).
Do we want something similar to this? Accept this proposal? Or try to figure some other thing out?

I don't know if I like the idea of not necessarily meeting at least once every 7 days. Say Farhope for instance comes to the Oct 22nd meeting. She can't make the Oct 31st meeting. She comes to the Nov 5th meeting. That's 12 days between meeting with the clan at an official meeting.
Is this acceptable?

Perhaps we can try this proposal out.
We can always change it later if it is not working out.

I'm just playiong devil's advocate here...

I'm for at least trying this out and then seeing what happens...
We'll definitely have to have a calendar type thing on the Web scroll so people can see when the future meetings are. It won't be easy to say we meet every Sunday at 1 PM EST...

One other thing, perhaps we should meet this Sunday just so we can let everyone know that a tentative new meeting schedule will be tested...

The vote on Lerris should be in as well as the treasurer vote.

Also, since we're in the middle of getting the other postions, etc setup as well as new meeting times, etc and whatever the meeting tomorrow is about, perhaps a meeting this Sunday (Oct 15th) would be a good idea...

I don't know if I'll be able to make tomorrow's (Thursday's) emergency meeting. I'll try but might be real late (ie 5 pm EST at the earliest).

So should we meet this Sunday before the new schedule takes over?

I agree with and advocate a meeting, this Sunday.

The closer to noon it is, the better for me, but I realise that this is a bad time for PSTers.

Konoko brings up several valuable points, I think the one about trying to explain it to new exiles is the most critical.

I'm not too sure what role the meetings will have, as we should have sufficient communication through this Forum, and the autonomy of individual officers will prevent the drawling nothings of the archaic Guides.

Perhaps have two or three meetings a week, which can take the form of chats, hunts, rescues, patrols, parties, etc. What do people think of this?

So more like get-togethers then?
A more informal type of "meeting"?
But still something that is planned enough in advance for people interested to take part?

This would fit in well with the idea I think you mentioned Aerick about "newbie" hunts.

Will we still have a normal meeting where stuff is discussed?

The use of the forum and the autonomy the officer@#$#@$^START:15
More, longer and better!

I have no objections to the frequency of meetings, I just figured alternating would help those who may be away weekends or mostly clan during the week.

Speaking of weekend, I will not be in the lands again until Sunday at aprox 3pm EST.
