View Full Version : Meeting Times need Resolution

Since meetings are the time at which we get the most done, and are one of the bonds of the clan, we need to resolve the issue about when we are meeting.
The skipping dates idea has a few issues, are the benefits worth it?
Is there an ideal day/time that we could all make? Early afternoon of the weekend seems to work pretty well for most.
We need to remember that there is a nine-hour difference to account for from Europe to California, so late night US time is really sketchy.
Let's make resolving our meeting times a priority, and have it all sorted out ASAP.

I agree, although I haven't been on but sporadicly, it would make it a lot easier to indicate to prospective clansmen (and women) which time is good to get together with us. As it is right now, Sunday at 3pm EST seems the best time.

Sunday 3pm EST is a fine time for me to meet; however, I am unable to join a hunt afterwards. If we could slide it earlier, it would work better for me, but then is forcing you Pacific-ers to get up earlier.
One thought I had was to have the 'main' meeting at a compromise time, when most can be there, and then have time-zone friendly meetings, where we know we can log on and visit with our clanmembers.

I think 2 meetings on sunday would work well enough. one early 11 or 12 PDT and then one later about 4-6 hours after wards. someone would need to be able to attend both to make sure thing get from one to the next gray would be ideal for this but he can always apoint someone to make sure info moves from one meeting to the next

Actually, I like Ender's idea. It would require more pre-planning, a solid agenda, and someone with all the information to distribute it.
If the person making the report (ie - update on clan funds) is not present, they should have given that information to the clan secretary, who can just read it off of the agenda. If they don't give that information, they get a big frowny face.
This way, we can have a meeting early enough that I can go on a clan hunt afterwards, instead of always needing to run off (for example). One disadvantage of this plan is that we will see those who attend the other meeting less often, but we should all be on enough to meet up in the lands regardless.
I would propose that once a month, we all meet at a compromise time, so that we're all together for a bit.
Please, offer comments and suggestions here, so we can have a cohesive plan, ready to understand, instead of the present constant uncertainty.

If Gray made it to the first meeting...could the fill-in for the next get the text log from the web site (not sure how to coordinate this if Kiriel is not available), and narrate the "minutes"?
BTW, would 11-12 PDT be 3-4 EST?
If so, it sounds like a good starting point. Farhope would be sure to be there then if at all.

11 - 12 PST is 2 - 3 EST
It's a three hour difference.

whomever is the secretary at the first meeting could just email the text log to the person who will be secretary at the second. or, we could just mail the text logs to everyone not present at the first meeting, so that in case they are unavailble for the second as well they have knoweledge of everything that happened.

Indeed, and they could cut & paste the verbage from the log during the meeting.
