Well, Alby, posting here is a good first step. Reading the scrolls on joining, as Farhope suggests, is also good. Unfortunately, the information on those scrolls is not correct. We are in the process of testing a slightly revised membership proceedure. Now, we are currently subjecting a guennea pig to these proceedures, so I am not sure they are safe yet. If you were not Sylvan, I'd just go ahead and use you as the next test subject, but since you are, I think it only fair to warn you. I have not noticed any adverse effects on the current test subject, but you never know when these things will explode. Also, since our curent test suject is far enough along, if he does come to any harm, we should be able to take corrective measures before you, or any other Sylvans, are hurt.

So, if you want to go ahead despite the warnings, here is what you need to do:

A) Post asnwers here (in this thread is fine) answers to the following for questions:

1) Why do you want to join Winds of Dawn?

2) In what ways do you enjoy helping new exiles?

3) What do you enjoy doing when you are out of the Library?

4) What do you not enjoy doing?

B) Attend three actual WoD events (A WoD event is anything on the official even list or any activity with at least 3 WoD members)

After you have attended three events and we have had 1 week to discuss your answers to the questions, we will start a vote on your membership, also lasting 1 week.

Feel free to ask me any questions you have about the whole thing

While the "guennea pig " was not identified in your post, I have a stong suspicion that I know who the "guennea pig" is!
No one mentioned harm, and certainly nothing about explosions when the GP inquired about membership. Though certain initiation rites are expected, exploding the GP seems a little severe.
I sense a little Sylvan bias here too! Let the non-Sylvans take the risks so that the Sylvan's may be safe? We are all exiles here and our genetic heritage should play no role. I say let all new members face the same explosions without regard to race, hair color or sobriety levels! Equal Explosion Rights For All!

Note: Is a guennea pig in any way related to the harley hawg?

Actually Farhope, the emails on the page that point to you are for ambassador oriented queries. I can change them to point to Delirium though, or modify the text if you guys have suggestions. Since we don't have anyone running for the ambassador position I'm not quite sure what to do here.

Alby, your initial post was as understandable as any of mine, so I just assumed you were a native English speaker like me. As any member of WoD will tell you, I am the meanest member of the clan, and your reaction to these questions (which I devised) proves it. [;)]

Seriously, though, we don't intend to put you on the spot. We just want to get a chance to know you, and that's what the questions are for.[:D]

Mine Deutch ist schreklich, aber Sie kann auf Deutch die Antworten schrieben. Vielicht ich kann die Antworten nicht verstehen. Veilicht kann neimand im WoD die Antworten verstehen (Sargon ist nicht im WoD. Er ist FoD), aber wir muss dien Antrworten lesen. (It only seems fair[;)] )

Farhope, do you speak German? I looked it up and it seems Belgium has German as one of its official languages. My ooc hubby speaks German, but I can't speak more than a few words of it myself. I rely on Babelfish (http://babelfish.altavista.com/) for passable, but no doubt inaccurate translations.

I shall also look out for you and if you'd like to go on a hunt, please let me know. I often go out with Amrosar II who is a fine guy and we'd appreciate having a healer go with us. We don't slaughter very much (I myself don't slaughter anything) so you will get good experience from our shares. If I appear distracted, please give me a shove to wake me up.

I'v meet this Alby character, She seems abit to Energetic and happy for WoD and to nice too! She just wouldnt fit in one bit! Nope I could never here see her hanging out with my 3 Favorite halflings!(Corwin, Tater and Farhope)

This Crazy Sylvan is to nice, Maybe after some hardship and toneing down she might fit in, but untill then keep here away!

(Note: im kidding! She is awesome Spent some time with her and Farhope and she was lots of fun to hunt with I think she would make a great addition to the WoD)
