Hi
Sorry, but I won't be able to make the meeting today...
If someone sees this in time, could you please try and discuss the Dun'ilsar contest.
It looks like we'll be doing a race and an arena battle. Now do we want do to an all out arena battle (basically whoever shows up from our clan vs whoever shows up from NnK)?
This is what I had suggested but there was some concern about how many people are on NnK. It was suggested that someone perhaps find out. It doesn't matter to me how many are on NnK - it will be fun either way...
So we do go ahead with this challenge?
Or does someone want to change the arena battle rules somewhat so only 3-3 or something? My only concern then would be that not everyone would get c chance to participate...
Please post here or through email any results you get from the meeting! Thanks!
Once again, sorry I can't make it...
Also, if you get a chance, please try a little fun battle in the arena if you can to practice up and check our battle abilities...
Have fun!

I just got back from the arena practice. I only wish I had more time. It was GREAT!
I wouldnt mind if whomever showed up fought together. As we did today however, we could have a team captain to pick the "players".
I'd be happy just to stay in the center and drink beer!

I had a brief talk with Lightbringer from the Neko No Kessha about a week ago. didnt find out how many members they had (I think asking them just to make our chances better would be bad form, personally), but i did ask why theyve never challenged anyone in the Dun'Ilsar, and he said it was mainly because of lack of coordinaiton.

So let's challenge them! A race and an all out arena battle!!!
Yes? That's what we'll do?
I have the challenge written up - basically I'd like final approval since a couple people voiced concerns about the arena battle...

Konoko, you have MY approval! Let's nail 'em (or lose with gusto!)

I agree, let's go for it!
Based on our practice in the arena Sunday, I think our chance for success depends a lot on who shows up on their side. People with a lot of detha seem to have an overly high advantage in arena battles, but that can be counteracted if enough people go after the detha person as a group, and make sure they keep from being healed. Being careful not to swing out is key, and definitely try real hard not to hit your own team members. If NnK has cad or burst healers it might be hard to keep their team members down, but we can just do our best and have fun!
I hope we'll have time for another practice- it was fun having a clan battle and it would be nice if everyone got to participate next time.

in an arena battle, one of the most useful preparations that can be made is to prepare a macro that arms and disarms your weapons by a simple keystroke. It lets you maneuver much easier. Another very good preparation is a push and pull macro - pulling to block your foes with fallen bodies, and pushing because if you push an opponent into another opponent (like a backpacking healer), the fighter will swing at that person, lose balance, and possibly do some harm - A great way to turn their strong fighters against each themselves.

I think, for the arena battle, that we can ask that both sides keep one healer out of the battle. This healer will wait outside (or perhaps it is possible to be in the central "box" I have seen). So we will have less need to contact healers from the main land if someone is badly fallen...

Instead of doing this we can have a judge or spectators as healers so everyone should be ok...
We should give everyone a chance at participating in the dun'ilsar!

sure Konoko... I was only thinking to Sargon :-)

I'll always come to the arena to help a fallen. Don't expect me to be there as a spectator (or even a fighter) though. I'm a healer and don't support exile-exile fights of *any* form.

While this may sound a bit strange to most of you, it's the way I play Sargon. Playing CL is supposed to be fun and being in the arena is far from being fun to me.

So Sargon would you be in the arena to start the contest and just like be in a corner healing Winds of Dawn members?
If you enter the arena during a battle then we'll probably be disqualified. You'd have to be in there the whole time during the contest. After a round is over, other healers/judges could then come in to help get the fallens ready for the next round.

No I won't be in the arena when the contest starts. I guess I can enter the arena *between rounds* to help heal a fallen though. As soon as the fallen exile is up and a new round is about to start I'll leave the arena and return to the main island.
Don't take this personally please. I tried to give my reasons for this in a previous post in this thread.

Ok - it's just good to know this...
You can wait around outside the arena (if we do the arena battle) between rounds. Or watch (if that's acceptable)...
And then, as you said, heal between rounds.

I believe the central box is accessed via the well just south of the main doors to the arena.
Indeed, I'm not sure that the builders of the arena didn't intend that fighting take place in the center box, and the surrounding area be spectator seating. But then, there really isn't enough room in the center for a team battle.

The center area is for the Coliseum fighting, in which exiles are pitted against beasts, and spectator exiles can bet on who they think will win. This is only available at certain times, which I forget, and the people fighting always make me lose my money one way or another (usually, by throwing the fight).
