Hi

Anyone else have 10.1?
Does hitting F12 open the cd tray?
Does anyone know how to turn this off or change it to another key or to allow the addition of a modifier?

F12 is my sleep macro key and now when I hit it my cd tray opens. I don't use an apple keyboard but instead a 3rd party keyboard. I know the apple pro keyboard has some keys special for opening cd tray and changing volume - but I don't have a pro keyboard and none of the other fkeys seem to do anything.

This didn't happen in 10.0.4 but now it does in 10.1...

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

I have the same problem. It's even worse on my TiBook where half the Fkeys are reserved. Luckily, all I've ever used F12 for is toggling SS/OE, so it's not a huge problem for me. I think the way around it is (grumble grumble) editing a plist somewhere in the depths of your system. Once I figure out a way around it, I'll let you know.

Hi

It's a feature. :p The reason for F12 is probably that not all keyboards have an eject key. *shrugs* Anyway, you might look for an application (iJect or something like that) on versiontracker, which maps the eject thingy to ctrl-F12 or shift-F12. As far as I know it worked for some people. (and for some it didn't, hee)

Anyway, since I've cancelled my ADSL-line and 10.1 fails to connect with the internal modem (no dial tone, as if!) and doesn't recognize my USB-Zyxel-ISDN-Adapter I'm back to OS9 for a bit. So I don't have this problem. :)

I have this problem with my G3 Powerbook running OS 9.1.

All you have to do is tell your dialling sofftware to ignore the dial tone, then everything works fine (or at lwast it did for me).
