My iPod has finally been shipped...

I've been wanting a portable MP3 player for quite a while. I almost bought a Rio a few times. But then Apple came along with the iPod...


It'll be very slick having a portable FireWire drive! And no transferring songs with USB speeds.
This is going to be cool!

I'd love to have one but it'd cost me about $800-$1000 Australian if you do a direct price conversion.

When Australia gets stocks and when the Australian price will be set is not known yet.

The canuck buck's been slipping lately but the price of the iPod here was based on the dollar from a little while ago. (lucky for me!). If they did the conversion today it's like $50 more...
So instead of $600 it'd be like $650. While those US types only pay $400... :(

Here's some good news (for me anyways) during all this weird funkiness that's going on:

I got my iPod! I'm just unpacking it right now (very cool packaging). For those who care, I'll have an in-depth report later...

Wow! It's fast! That's pretty much the first thing you'll say (after you get over how cool it looks) once you start transferring songs to it.

The past couple weeks I've been organising my iTunes music collection and burning a bunch of my CDs so I'd have my music ready for the iPod.

I haven't done tons of listening to it yet but it's made a great first impression!


I've even found the little "breakout" game on it (goto "About" and press the middle button for a couple seconds).


Using it as a firewire hard drive is pretty slick too!

Anything anyone wants to know about it?
