I've updated to 9.2.2 on my PB and discovered that f1-f6 are set fixed to have as primary function their system controls (brightness, volume, etc.). In 9.2.1 and earlier, it was possible to override this with the keyboard control pannel, but now I can't. Anyone know a fix?????

Ok, I think I have it, but jeez, what a lousy design Apple!

in the KB control pannel, you click on function keys, and there are two check boxes under "Hot Function key settings" - the second one is unchangeable (grayed out) if the 1st is not checked. But.... the second comes checked and apparently its setting matters when the 1st is not checked.:eek:

So the fix is:

ckeck the 1st box (so you can change the second)

uncheck the 2nd box.

uncheck the 1st box (and second becomes grayed out, but now unchecked).

REALLY STUPID DESIGN!!!!
