high folks,

Archemar again. [:D]

some IC month ago, i met skea brightfur and as is tradition "learn as i practice".

Thinking back I was able once or twice to recover fur from vermine (the only critter i can handle alone, not much worth mind you : 1c).

Now, "my persistence is paying off", I've kill so many vermine it is strange some still exists [;)].

I've told Mat'ma'gond that i want to participate to the hunt, but not a single fur would yield so much as a single coin.

what is happening ? is the big spirit of vermine cursing me ? Am I doomed ?

Oh pleeeaaase tell me, I couldn't bear it any longer ....

Archemar.

Alas, it is a rare vermine indeed that yields fur of any value. [:(]

Large and Giant vermine however, these are the critters which IMHO are the bread and butter of skinning coinage. They are plentiful enough, and have a great percentage of valuable skins.
Island panthers are my next favorite. they have become quite plentiful and seem to have an above average rate of good quality skins.

If you can grab a good healer (until you get the hang of "running" critters) South forest can be quite lucrative.
I find that running amuck (as I often do) along the eastern column of SF yields me on average 100c per hour. Of course I am getting little to no experience from that soloing since I slobber most SF critters.

Savanah. Here is a tricky one. To hunt there solo, you must be experienced to the point where you slobber the mahas. They sometimes give great skins tho. Savanah is a fun coin hunting ground for younger exile group hunting. Myself, I find it too far for the coins I would get. SF is so much closer, and the rate of spawns seems so much higher.

Bear caves. Heh, its funny. I finally reached the point where hunting bears is fun (ie. I dont fall every 3 minutes). Problem is...all but cinders are slobbers for me. I was in a group of 3 a few days ago, and the coins seemed to be less than when the caves were discovered. The 2 cinders that we stumbled apon didn't even have skins of very much value, but at least they were still "kills" for me

The lack of skins from the vermine you are slaying is no reflection on your training unless you see that you ruined the fur.[:)]

One last point, If like me, you begin to tackle South Forest with a buddy or 2, keep this in mind: All it really takes is ONE of you to be a decent skinner. It has been said that every person in the party gets a chance to skin each critter (that is, critters with skin of value to begin with).

As Awfus so often disclaims: YMMV

Oh, BTW,
Don't hesitate to give me a holler when you are in the mood fer coin hunting in SF. I'm at bricking level and you can make quite a few coins as you tag 'em.
(Do I sound like Gurgi here? Shares are fun!)
Yup, couldnt hurt to have you sharing yer kills with me too! [:D]

The mirror snell, kitty beach, and the cat cave in brambles (cave on snell south of the west trool mine) are good too.

NWF is good. All of north forest is pretty good if you can hit ferals. They may not be worth as much as all the LV, GV, and IPs but there are often lots of them (large quantity of low skin furs vs less common better quality furs).

I ruin most of the furs when I go solo hunting, but I have no skea. So I have to bring along a fighter with some skea skill when I want to hunt.
