he speak all tongue save common.

Wow, no idea what to make of all that, but sounds like a clue! Maybe you should post the transcript on Thoomcare?

Sounds like Gungla Island to me, too. There are places on the river with rocks. Maybe a pf is there.

The messenger showed up earlier, but ended up d/c-ing. He kept shifting languages, and we didn't have most of them represented for most of his speech.

That said, I do have an 18-min visionstone I started pretty late in his visit. I'll review it and the text log, and see if the comprehensible (Sylvan) portions say anything more than what Archemar recorded.

I was told there is a PF at the rainbow falls that few people can see.

Oh, also my last adventure with Lundar on GI. Lundar used his mystic powers to locate NPCs to look for people such as Vian. Places like a castle and a desert popped up.

following a clan meeting and a clan visit to Gungla Island, it is not very clear if the messenger is a genuine messenger or a spy send to deceive us.

the few explict names told by messenger could easily be gathered on GI.
That some evil curse fell on gunglan is for all to see (na hear), that river (natural or not) hold danger at bay is easy to see either.
It seems obvious we are to find a way across the river.

I didn't have all those informations went I first post the messenger's talk.

While it is obvious (to me anyway) that we should find a way to get across the river to find out what caused the god to become mad and hence those green fellows to become violent, to find bows/crossbows and arrows/bolts, the shieldstone, and anything else it may have the messenger did have a use.

If it was an exile who played the messenger then it was good role-playing and it's nice to see that these days.

If it was a GM who played the messenger then I think it was trying to tell us that we should keep looking for a way across the river because it exists. There have been several barriers in the past which were there for ages and even though people went often to find a way past, nothing they did mattered until a GM removed it. The barrier that barred our way into the Pitch Cave is one. The dropped Dark Bubbling story with the magic barrier is another. The leaking ether into Purgatory story also seems to have been forgotten. Perhaps the messenger is telling us that if we look hard we will be able to find a way across the river because it's there and all we need to do is find it, not wait for a GM to put it in the future when all but a few have forgotten about Gungla Island entirely.

At least I hope that's what it means. I've been told I am quite optimistic for a mystic.
